I like what I see out of Steel and Rossi.....mostly I expect us to trade pieces (Dumba and young defenseman) for another scorer.

I don't see them parting with a young defenseman. I expect those guys to take roster spots.

Can we replace Fiala's production?

Not only that. He instantly made Boldy a viable option as a scoring outlet. Can someone step up and assume that role too. It sure looked like (as far as the games I was able to see) that they are expecting that to come from Rossi.

We'll see with Rossi. He averaged over a point a game for about 2/3 of the season and then fell way off. I hope it was just a case of hitting the wall after being shutdown for a year due to his myocarditis scare.

Not feeling comfortable with the Fleury situation at all. I hope the other guy is good because he may end up playing a lot.

Flower move was a major headscratcher.

Mr. SMF agrees

If you need to tell JEE anything you better hurry up. He most likely doesn’t make it through this game. If Evanson is old school enough someone one the Wild will be at the commissioners office for disciplinary hearings tomorrow. This is a “are MN soft?” test.

I was going to look for a place to stream the game. Looks like there is no point.

Wow, I miss the first 2 periods and tune in to find we are down 4-1. Are we getting our asses kicked that badly or what?

Goal #5 for the Rangers was all I needed to see about this game......
Fluery could be the undoing of this team if he lets softies like that in all season.

From the boxscore, I see our #1 line is -3 and Fleury has a sizzling .760 save percentage.

He will and Billy and Evason will insist he is a superstar.

In fairness:

#1 - nobody on the planet has a chance
#2 - Hartman did him in

About the only positive is that Boldy potted 2G and was plus 2 on a night when the team lost by 5.

NY had some good scoring plays, they are a good team after all. But it never felt like "Wow what an offensive assault". It was a normal amount of pressure a goalie should expect to face...and not give up 7.

The Wild have a goaltending problem.

It’s not just a goalie problem. It’s a team problem.

Who’s our shutdown d pair? The 2 dudes you send out there when you need it most? Same for a FO win, a penalty kill, a huge save ect…..

Yep, still many questions that need addressing.
I thought Guerin was amazing initially, now, less so.
Glaring mis steps with goal tending last year bleeding into this year.
Dumba? WTH does an evaluator need to see to realize his liabilities?
Versus production?
Yes he’s been hamstrung by previous contracts and especially
Suter/ Parise deals. But let’s not go the wrong direction waiting for $$ space.

They have to figure out something with the bigger teams. Spurgeon, Brodin, and Addison aren't going to work.

The Goaltending will improve with the one we traded for and the draft pick.....Guerin is taking a chance on Fluery having something left in the tank....just so questionable.

Since I didn't really watch much of the game all I have to go on is articles in the paper and the Athletic, but it sure sounds like the team had a good wake up call last night.
We still have some good players, but they need to be playing the right way in order to win games. Let's hope they do that tomorrow night and get things going in the right direction.

Couldn't agree more. Golli shouldn't have been extended, let alone put on the top pairing. The whole organization is apparently in denial over Dumbo.

Crazy thing about him last night was his luck. If they weren’t on a delayed penalty they would have had a 2-0 break away after he tripled over the blue line

What, have you never tripped over the blue line in a game? I have, and it sucks believe me. Luckily I bounced right back up from my knees and had enough speed to still get to the net....didn't score.

Watching Fluery flop around and give up 2 goals in the first 10 minutes gives me the old here we go again feeling.
And now another penalty......not good.
