I honestly had low expectations at the start of the year and really didn't start watching much until February. I think we overachieved in the regular season.

With Ek we might have had a chance. Without, we did not.

Really sad that our star disappeared after scoring the first goal of the series. Is he worth the money?

I still want fewer tiny guys on the team.

Are you kidding?

Dallas was the better team.

Sure the refs didn’t help, but it’s not like “Oh my God they cost us the series”. The better team won.

Sure there were understandable reasons. The Wild are a physically beat up team. Missing key players, and even some who played were not at 100%.

They surprised me this year with their high level of play. They had the feel of a cobbled together bunch early on, and I didn’t expect much but they really jelled. They just ran out of gas in the playoffs. Rose to their level of incompetence.

Expect more of the same until they are out of salary cap purgatory. At least there are some good young players so that will be fun. Hopefully they will be peaking at same time there’s more money to spend.

Standard Minnesota sports fan legacy: We'll have to wait until NEXT year to see if we have what it takes to win a championship.

It's always next year. Other fans seem to get a THIS year and celebrate. For us, it's always "hope for next year."

Agreed on all points, well stated Karl. :)

I would amend that to "expect more of the same until they get a coach who can pull it together in the playoffs and adapt". Dean's post season failures aren't an anomaly.

I suspect the reason BG is sticking with Dean is because he knows there aren't any quality coaches that will want to take over this team in cap hell. In 2 years that will be a different story and we will have a full cap to work with and some good young talent. I just don't want Dean to ruin good young players confidence the way he jacks them around at times. Like Addy...the latest whipping boy.

Judd said in a recent podcast that he heard from "inner circles" that Leo doesn't want to pay another guy that isn't with the team anymore. We're stuck for a bit, if true.

So, when Deano's contract is up BG has the green light to make a move.....
That is pretty much what Russo just said on KFAN with Barreiro about Dean's contract too.

Just like I said months ago......
The NHL will make sure Chicago gets Bedard in this years draft. There you go Joe.....the rebuild will be a quick one.
The Ducks and Blue Jackets get screwed because they aren't an original 6 team.

Zach Whitecloud was a great player at Bemidji State.

ESPN's John Anderson made fun of his name.

Whitecloud is the first Indigenous NHL player from the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.

What? You're just now figuring out pretty much everybody associated with ESPN are Ass Clowns!
The only reason my TV ever goes to their stations is because it's the only place to see the NHL playoffs.....just like the only time I go to FOX is to watch Vikings games.

You called it early, st. I hate to say it, but I wouldn’t mind a trade for a ton of picks and prospects. Make the rebuild happen even quicker. Bedard is a scoring machine, but he’s not big enough to be “the guy” for a couple years as they build a team around him. I might be overthinking it, though.

I feel the same way about the Whitecloud situation. First off, it’s stupid making fun of someone’s name. But, it would’ve only taken a minute on the google machine to do some research about the kid and his background. Nobody needs to get fired over it, but get better at your job, ffs.

Wow, never thought I'd say/see it. Conference semi's and a Cup that I won't watch an ounce of. I'm sure the sponsors were dreaming of a season ending of Vegas/Dallas and Carolina/Florida. What dream matchups. Should be the lowest ratings in history. Congrats Gary, you're dream of giving the startups of recent a way to payoff, is. We almost had a Vegas/Kraken Western

That would of killed it

Carolina/Florida should be a good series, but I most likely won't watch much of the Western Conference final since most games won't start until 9 PM my time.....a waste to watch one period and go to bed.
This season is turning into the Cup run nobody cares about quickly. I may have to go back to the early days of the Wild and just stay away and stick to college hockey.

Florida vs Vegas for the Cup. I want Florida to take it, but have a feeling this time around it could be Vegas. Just glad Suter won't be playing for the Cup.....

I've been in an any-team-except Dallas mode for a while, but my personal dislike for anything Florida related will cause me to cheer for a Vegas win. Besides, my third cousin, three times removed (or something like that) plays for Vegas.

Totally agree on being glad Suter won't be playing for the cup. When he played for the Wild, all I heard were good things about him, but now we've been hearing that he's actually a crappy teammate, and we saw with our own eyes his unnecessarily rough cross-checking on Kaprizov.

Yeap, everything i've heard for years is he's a massive D-bag. Screw him. I did break my stance of "not watching a minute" of the Conf Finals.

I watched a bit (maybe half a period) of the game where Suter did the most "Suter" of "Suter'ings", and I LMAO.

I would rant on and on and ..... when he played for us that he would get super lazy. He cost his team the game, if not the series, when he played a super lazy pass that got intercepted and then didn't even bother to cover the front of his net. Game, set, series

Vegas wins the cup......does anybody really care?
This years playoffs has brought me back to where I was in the Wild's early years.....I just don't really care about the NHL much any more.

I didn't watch a minute of the playoffs after the Wild were booted, and the only thing I cared about at the end was that a Florida team wouldn't win. But that was just because of politics, not hockey.
