ORIGINAL: TJSweens I'm never a fan of tanking. The Wild have strung together some really good drafts. They need to focus on establishing a culture. If you tank incessantly, it becomes your culture. Make some moves. Get rid of the dead weight on the blueline. Bring up O'Rourke and Lambos and let them play and learn. Agree. This year should be a total youth movement. I don't want to hear, he's not ready so we need to play the 35 year old journeyman instead. What good does that do? We're losing either way. Start letting the young guys take their lumps and get seasoned. They'll be better for it. Ya, well, you might do better with the young guys, but a youth movement usually comes with some growing pains. Getting rid of expensive vets and playing kids could me included in my tank statement. This team is going nowhere with the current goaltending. Agreed, the growing pains of going younger with bad goal tending may look just as bad as a tank. We have to go young and cheap the next few years due to cap compliance. You can call it anything you want, we are going cheap other than a few top line players and that is the way it is for now. May as well get some top draft picks along the way..... That's kind of my point. You have to go cheap anyway for a while until they are free from salary cap purgatory. The best you can hope for is last year where they somehow cobbled together a pretty decent regular season, and look where it got them. Another 1st round exit. I understand you always need some veteran presence and roster filler, but the priority should be on youth.
