I wasn't a fan of this Fluery experiment and now I'm ready to move on from him.

All we can hope for is Jesper Wallstedt forces his way up and dominates.

Hell, I'd be ok with Gustavsson playing more than Fleury while we wait.

We've scored 9 goals in 2 games and lost them both.

Between poor goaltending and our smurf or old D core we could be in for a long season. Those bigger, younger defensemen can't get here soon enough.

Hopefully they are REALLY bad and get a Top 5 pick as we get out of cap hell and our youngsters develop.

I suspect we are still good enough to stay out of the top 10 picks, and probably will be in the high teens at the best.

Can't give up TD's in hockey and win.

Well Gustavsson kept it to only 2 goals against, and the team played their best period of hockey this season so far, but we are still chasing the game at 1-2 after 1 period.
The team is messing with Rossi by sitting him after 2 games on the 4th line with limited minutes.....time to send him to Iowa so he can get some ice time. Guerin doing exactly what he keeps saying he won't do to prospects....

Well the Avs must've missed the extra point tonight, so we got that going for us.... which is nice.

Timberwolves anybody?

Good thing we still have Gophers hockey.
I had to quit watching when the Avs got goal #3 on a bouncer that Gustavsson mishandled.....looked worse than a high school goalie on that one.

Tank!

We have a pretty good nucleus now, a couple years of tanking with the correct picks may just get us over the top. Much like the Avs did a few years back to add some top players to go with MacKinnon. Maybe that was BG's thinking all along the way he handled our goalie situation......

I'm never a fan of tanking. The Wild have strung together some really good drafts. They need to focus on establishing a culture. If you tank incessantly, it becomes your culture.

Make some moves. Get rid of the dead weight on the blueline. Bring up O'Rourke and Lambos and let them play and learn.

Agree. This year should be a total youth movement. I don't want to hear, he's not ready so we need to play the 35 year old journeyman instead. What good does that do? We're losing either way. Start letting the young guys take their lumps and get seasoned. They'll be better for it.

Forget the Timberwolves. When do pitchers and catchers report?

Not much to look forward to as a Twins fan, I'm afraid.

Ya, well, you might do better with the young guys, but a youth movement usually comes with some growing pains. Getting rid of expensive vets and playing kids could me included in my tank statement. This team is going nowhere with the current goaltending.

Agreed, the growing pains of going younger with bad goal tending may look just as bad as a tank. We have to go young and cheap the next few years due to cap compliance. You can call it anything you want, we are going cheap other than a few top line players and that is the way it is for now. May as well get some top draft picks along the way.....

That's kind of my point. You have to go cheap anyway for a while until they are free from salary cap purgatory. The best you can hope for is last year where they somehow cobbled together a pretty decent regular season, and look where it got them. Another 1st round exit. I understand you always need some veteran presence and roster filler, but the priority should be on youth.
