I'm really starting to like Merril's game too. He doesn't do 1 thing spectacularly, but he is a very solid presence.

Yup, he's what Goligoski was 7 or 8 years ago.....steady Eddie and doesn't make many errors.

While a team devotedly needs guys like that, you can’t have a whole team of them. Who are the playmakers? The guys who can occasionally be spectacular? Kaprizov for sure. Boldly is potentially one in the making. And then, ????

It was already 3-0 Kracken by the time I could tune in, so I didn't bother watching much.
Playing 11 forwards and 7 defense made no sense to me, and it sure didn't work out well last night.

Wild lose to the Kings last night 0-1. I don't stay up late to watch them any more, but it sounds like Kirill got fed up with Doughty's constant holding and cheap shots and finally snapped and cross checked him in the face....got a major and ejection from the game. I suspect next time we play them we will have some bigger guys back that will go after Doughty for some payback. Apparently the refs won't take control so it's time for some old fashioned goon hockey.... LOL

I agree with what Ferraro said in real time. I watched the whole thing. I don’t think KK was trying to catch him in the face but he did. He was trying to knock his hands down but missed. It was a major but he shouldn’t have been tossed.

As for the rest of the game, Fluery was excellent but we are the Iowa Wild right now and just don’t generate any good scoring chances.

Kaprizov celebrated getting fined instead of suspended by scoring two goals and leading the Wild to a 4-1 win. Gustavsson with the win.

BREAKING: With Joe O'Donnell announcing he has accepted the Anaheim Ducks radio play-by-play job, the Minnesota Wild have hired Paul Allen as their primary play-by-play announcer. When Allen is unable to announce due to his Minnesota Vikings duties, fellow KFAN play-by-play man Zach Halverson will fill-in for Allen. Tom Reid will continue his duties as color analyst.

Oofff. Bad loss today. Up 2-0 with about 6 to go and we lose in the shootout. Their 2nd goal was really bad 🥹

Yup, they went and ruined what was otherwise a good sports day in MN.
Guerin really needs to work on adding some size to this team. We always look like smurfs trying to win board battles.
The next few drafts have to be about players with size and skill.

The Wild called up all 5'9" / 175 of Nick Petan. Just what the lineup needed, another Smurf.

Jost put and waivers and picked up by another team which picked up his 2 million plus salary.

If we can't score, at least we can entertain with some bloodied noses.

I suspect Doughty will think twice before messing with Kirill next time we see them, LOL.
Pretty much a wasted move, but if it keeps the goons from taking cheap shots at Kirill I'm all for it.

5th rounder and it allows Moose and Greenway to concentrate on hockey and not protecting. Not bad

Doesn’t seem to have hurt the locker room either as they are laying the boots on the Jets

When I first tuned in to the game tonight I had a flashback to about 30 years ago and a North Stars game. I love these new retro colors on the Wild!
Beating the Jets 6-1 with minutes left makes it even better.

Very true. As long as this isn't something akin to picking up Simon, I'm OK with it.

I just saw parts of the game but it looks like the Jets have a new coach but still play the same sneaky, dirty game.....north of the border hockey.
