4 picks to go. Without something dramatic before half way through the third, we are working on competition for our backups.

We've 'drafted' a lot of offense so far with Addison and Hockenson.

He looked like an attention wanting dork BTW

I caught that too.

Kwesi was walking around the war-room / fashion runway, all slim-fit and sockless ...

Then Addison showed up and toasted him.

Addison looks quick, with great catching radius, seems to get open. But doesn't have breakaway speed, many of his catches on highlight clips should have gone for TDs.

When they were bringing in the players before the draft started, I was thinking what the f*** is that, some dumb ass team will get stuck with him.

And in the interview there was some question about what he can bring to the team or whatever, and he's like "Let's get paid." His jacket lining was cash print.

I was torn, I wanted Hooker or the best DB left on the board. It does seem like they were trying to trade back, hope the O is good next year the D will be a major concern.

I thought maybe our two WR (JJ Osborn), two TE set (Hock Oliver)

would shift WR back a little to a mid rd. pick.

As you said, we know nothing about our defense at this point.

The big guns from last year's draft are still in the repair shop.

...

I expected Banks or Porter. Especially with that WR run. I'm not thrilled with taking the last guy in the tier, but he is comparable to Flowers and Johnston.

The TCU WR has big problems with drops. Doubt there is a consensus on the order of the four of them.

I don't mean that he was the last ranked, but when the other three are drafted first, we learned some additional hard information.

But maybe the Chargers just wanted the big guy, drops or not. I didn't have a big preference between Flowers and Addison. When I ran simulators, I kinda expected Flowers would be there in a trade down.

Kincaid, #25 by the Bills.

I've heard a couple draftniks call him the most natural WR in the draft ... which rings a bell with JJs draft profile (even though it wasnt this regime that picked him).

I am NOT saying he could be another JJ or even really good ...

Only that I'm going to ignore my first impression of him being an attention whore ... and focus on the natural ability for now lol.

FWIW, I'm most surprised that Porter and Levis are still there.

But I got some bad vibes about Porter.

Levis, who knows. I expect someone will trade into the first round to get him with a 5th year option.

Agree on the WR take.

Repair shop? One didn't make it off the factory floor before breaking.

Yeah not exactly big guns either.

After trying to shame someone else's negativity recently,

I may have spun that situation a little too promisingly.

We'll see.

Yeah, not a good sign. But the Vikes should have a decent idea of how DB rehab is going by now.

FWIW, the vibes I got is that this WR class is really thin. So the WRs that go in the third round would ā€” I don't know ā€” be something like the typical 5th or 6th round shot-in-the-dark project picks.

Same for edge rushers.

Hey, he can play DB.

Maybe sneak help for the defense.

Anyway. Didn't have to wait until the end of the first rd with the fans of the real good teams to get our pick. That was fun.

IMO we have a lot of work to do on D to not pick earlier in the first rd. than #23 next year.

I don't dislike the addition and I'll get over not getting what I wanted.

It's surprising they didn't add picks or grab a corner and both QB's we were tied to we just passed.

I don't expect much the rest of the way.

We needed an engine, brakes, and exhaust system. We got a paint job.

Leaving the cupboard even more bare.

I know you can find starters...it's just not likely.

Addison

Iā€™m not thrilled, but they know more about what we need than I do.

Well, he's quick, and Jefferson will guarantee Addison gets single coverage. So even though he's light, maybe he'll be able to exploit the coverage effectively? And he could handle punt returns.

Not a Red zone threat, I suspect, but they have Jefferson & Hockenson.

He can be as much of a red zone threat as Adam was.
