Big one tonight. I hope they are sellers regardless but if we win I can see BG staying the course and pushing to upgrade for a 1st round knockout

If we lose and he isn't a seller he's a full blown idiot (which I don't believe he is).

They have to sell a piece or 2 after the signing of:

Glad I wasn't around to watch last night....
Nashville showed us what a first round playoff game would look like this year.
8 points back now and we can pretty much stick a fork in this team for the year. A few more games like that and Hynes should get the green light to play some youngsters.

Well, that was decisive.

I was hoping we could get something for Gus. He's way too streaky for me. He's been so bad so often recently nobody is going to want him.

In fairness to him though, his D did him no favors last night. They stood around watching all night long.

In the game before, one of the goals went in off of an opposing player's visor. Without that, the game would have gone into overtime. Hardly Gus's fault.

Gus has been only so-so this season, but we sure can't expect much better from Fleury so we are stuck in goal for now until Wallstedt is ready to take the reins full time. It wouldn't surprise me to see BG try to sign Fleury to another year here so Wallstedt can get one more year in Iowa.

He’s just so hot and cold. When he’s on he’s really good. When he lets in an early one it tends to balloon.

Maybe the lowly Sharks will take it to them today and stop all of that wild card crap for good....
Now that we are out of it Gaudreau was finally benched for a mystery upper body injury that he has been nursing all season apparently, as if nobody could tell. Can't dump any dead weight at the deadline other than the Dewey's and won't get any help by doing so. Guerin really has put this team behind the 8-ball for a few seasons with his contract signings earlier this year, but maybe Iowa will be better next year since that is the only place there will be room for the top prospects.

His drafts have been looking good. Their prospects are really good.

The headlines say the Wild picked up "two crucial points" last night.

Not gonna lie. The more I see of the Billy G experiment the more confused I am. In a vacuum nothing today moves the needle. Saying that, was any offseason move “good” the past year?

We kept really weird contracts on guys who can’t (or don’t care to) contribute and we let legit 4th line grinders go. My only guess is that if tried to move a MJ, for example, the other GM’s were like “nah, ur problem dude”

I think he is trying to save face after those stupid contracts he signed and saying they are all in with the guys we have....
It's as if he really wants to tank but is afraid to go all out and do it.

I have a hard time watching them lately....
These state tourney games are more fun to watch than a bunch 30-something guys going thru the motions just to get a paycheck.

gonna be fun tomorrow to see the headline

"Wild strengthens playoff position with dismantling of the Yotes". Is my guess.

Meanwhile, 2 empty netters in a 4-1 victory.

I love the TC's media. As a kid, I had no idea. As I've gotten further away from it, the MN "nice" thing is real.

Thing is, we didn't gain any ground because the top teams keep getting points too.
If Ekker is out for any length of time we are toast just like last year. No word yet on what or how bad his injury is, but he went right down the tunnel and never returned....

So the Wild managed to get a point against St Louis. How can any team consider themselves playoff material when they can't beat any of the teams in their own division? Per Russo: The Wild’s record against Colorado, St. Louis, Nashville, Winnipeg and Dallas this season? 3-10-2. These are the teams they would have to face in the playoffs as well....
Please, just play out this season and let us see some of the young guys get some real playing time.

Try as I may, I can find no good reason to watch this team any more. Any other hockey game is more enjoyable than watching this Wild team play......
