Deano on Rossi so far this season: He is making plays left and right alongside Marcus Foligno and, with Freddy Gaudreau now hurt, Vinni Lettieri. Friday he scored the game’s opening goal, had four shots, two others attempted and could have had two or three more points had his teammates finished at even-strength and on the second power-play unit. “So good,” Evason said of the rookie. “I don’t know what his minutes were; I haven’t seen a sheet yet (18:46). Yeah, he just keeps getting better and better every game. He’s more confident. He’s dictating to us that he’s going to play more because of the way he’s playing. He killed penalties tonight. He plays on the power play. He’s been a real strong player for us so far.” It sounds like if Rossi keeps it up and our top line keeps giving up the puck at alarming rates, it's only a matter of time before he gets a shot at centering KK and Zuc. Rossi so far has been the one bright spot of this season.
