Yup, we had more jump early and they picked it up later in the period.

A good finish for the 4-2 win. A pretty good game tonight. I like the lines the way they are, Dean better leave them alone for now.

What's holy crap about it? He wasn't doing anything. There was no market for him in the off-season. This creates a little breathing room under the cap and likely means Spurgeon is returning.

Oh wow! Now we know why they traded Addison! The Wild have made ANOTHER trade: Zach Bogosian. So much for more breathing room!

Bogosian will definitely bring some much needed thump to the blue line.

Addison was crap again last night. His positioning, if you call it that, was horrendous on 5-5 play. He was just running around out there. I felt kinda sorry for him.

Is there some sort of "International break" next week or is Bettman just an idiot?

We go 3 games in 4 days and then are off for a week.

Addison had plenty of chances, but a defenseman that doesn't play defense for shit just doesn't cut it. He wasn't exactly lighting it up on the PP this year either. I would say this was the perfect time for a change for him and the team. Maybe he can grow with all the young guys in San Jose and the change works for him.
Bogosian will add some bite to our 3rd pair which we need more than we needed Addison.....good trades in my opinion.

Man, BG hasn't flat said Addison stunk but the comments certainly lend to that line of thinking. I kinda like that. Don't go full on asshat and insult the kid but also, don't pull punches.

+1
You can sense there is more coming.....I don't know if it is for Merrill or Goligowski but too much salary tied up in those two for the production plus Mermis and Hunt have played well. Addison had no takers all summer and basically one of the worst teams became one of the only takers.

Bad score line but it wasn't that bad. It was closer than the boxscore will reflect.

Faber with a really bad pinch that cost an easy goal. A late empty netter and it's 4-1.

Still not sure what Evason is thinking. We rolled the weed out there again. It wasn't directly his fault but what's the point of him going 3 in a row? Are we trying to establish him as the #1 because he's been decent recently? Why pay Gus if that's the case?

And, my GOD. This is probably my 900th time saying this but......Why do MN broadcasters fawn all over him when he makes one of his "trademark athletic saves" when it was his terrible rebound control or positioning that got in that predicament to begin with? They seem to gloss over that

The team appears to be playing much better, now all they need is some better results and they will be fine. Agree completely about Floppy and his making basic saves look spectacular only because he is kicking out rebounds right to them in the slot. What is up with Duhaime thinking he has to get into fights all the time? He gets his ass kicked most of the time and already has had some concussions. Still not much out of Kirill, he sure is off this year so far. Hope he finds his game soon, we need him to take over a game to get things rolling.

Yeap.

I'm gonna take some heat for this but it's cool. I told a fan from Southern MN about a year ago that I think KK is vastly overrated by the MN media/fans. He's a very good player but he's not great. He's paid like he's great but it's the same effect as Parise/Suter had. The team, and it's fans, are so starved for greatness that they get excited and pay that for 'very good'.

Don't get me wrong, very good player but he will never take over a game at this point. He could do that very early on because he was unique and took the league by surprise. They have him figured out now.

LOL. Regarding Duhaime. He's the new Veilleux. The teams punching bag who just won't give up. Don't remember the guy he fought but he picked him up after he fell just to send a message and put him back down on his ass. He literally lifted him back up.

Nanne "he didn't take many shots, mostly to his helmet"

Gotta love MN broadcasts. It's like having the soundtrack to Slapshot in the background with nothing coming out of the TV.

Last thing. We need Spurg back ASAP. They are asking way too much out of Faber. That kid will be fine but damn, he's put in so many situations he shouldn't be in at this point in his young career.

KK is a bit overrated, but dear God in Heaven he is in a whole other class than Parise and Suter.

The thing that is the worst about Spurgeon being out is that I hear people saying that the Wild miss Dumba. He currently has 1 point in 13 games and is -6 for the season. Right now he projects to -38 by the end of the year. They do NOT miss him.

I guarantee I don't miss Dumba. He inherited the "gets by" moniker that many of us used for Zidlicky years ago. Someone sends the puck back to the corner where Dumba is standing, and it gets by him and back into our defensive zone. Of course it happens to every player, but some of them make an art out of it.

Agree but you missed my point. I'm not talking about talent/impact. All 3 were/are paid like elite level talents and none are/were. They were all paid as "highest in the league" guys.

The big question is, are we shooting right at their goalie or is he just hot and stopping everything thrown his way?
All those great chances on the PP and still tied.
