ORIGINAL: Jeff Jesser Yeap. I'm gonna take some heat for this but it's cool. I told a fan from Southern MN about a year ago that I think KK is vastly overrated by the MN media/fans. He's a very good player but he's not great. He's paid like he's great but it's the same effect as Parise/Suter had. The team, and it's fans, are so starved for greatness that they get excited and pay that for 'very good'. Don't get me wrong, very good player but he will never take over a game at this point. He could do that very early on because he was unique and took the league by surprise. They have him figured out now. KK is a bit overrated, but dear God in Heaven he is in a whole other class than Parise and Suter. Agree but you missed my point. I'm not talking about talent/impact. All 3 were/are paid like elite level talents and none are/were. They were all paid as "highest in the league" guys. Oh, I get what you are saying and I put Spurgeon in that category too. I'm just saying KK is a lot closer to being worth what he is paid than Zach or Suter. He also isn't a pissy prima donna like those two. And then there's the 3rd and 4th line level talent all locked up for 2-3 more years with varying NMC's effectively blocking out any of our young talent from gaining any real NHL experience. It's like Guerin is saying, "you guys have 3 years to make a run and then you're done." I suspect once we are done with the cap hell this team will change dramaticly in a hurry.
