Status: offline 		The Timberwolves made the greatest 7th game comeback in NBA history, can they now make the greatest series comeback in NBA history, after down 3-0 ?

I am thinking like I stated a few days ago, Mavs in 6 games.

I didn’t say Ant didn’t like the name - HE SAID IT.

Just because the media thinks it’s clever doesn’t mean he appreciates it.

Reggie Miller still constantly calls KAT “Anthony Towns” even after he’s been in the league 9 years.

FWIW

155 previous series that went to 3-0

95 ended in 4, 95/155 = 61%.
45 ended in 5, 45/60 = 75%
11 ended in 6, 11/15 = 73%
4 ended in 7. 4/4 = 100%.

By the time it gets to 3-3, I'd think the last game should be a flip. And game 6 should be close to a flip. But no. It's game 4 where the team that's down seems to over perform.

Anyway, the team up 3-0 is about a 75% favorite (no other info). But I think your coin flip estimate isn't far off.

And if Ant is finally recovering from that game 6 hard fall (David Levine, post 733), maybe it's even better. Still a long shot, obviously.

It’s okay to acknowledge that Towns had a good game AND still say he makes dumb fouls. The two are not mutually exclusive.

He commits way too many charges. His primary ‘move’ on a drive if you want to call it that, is to lower his shoulder and barrel into a defender.

Many of his defensive fouls are far away from the basket.

Some are just silly. Look at his 5th foul last night when he elbowed a defender in the face while going up for a shot. Why would he throw himself at a defender in that situation. Out of control. What was he even trying to accomplish? What would have been wrong with a little step back 3 there?

Status: online 		All hail Karl Anthony Towns. Last night was the quintessential example of why Towns aggravates the crap out of me. He waited 4 games to show up and when he finally started performing, he was limited to 30 minutes before fouling out. All 6 fouls were just plain stupid. The defensive fouls were all well away from the basket and including at least one deep in Dallas' end of the court. He had one of his patented run over the defender who established position at least 10 feet before KAT got there to run him over. The elbow to the jaw before delivering a pass was obvious and deliberate as hell. The final one was in the obvious contest / don't foul situation. He followed through and fouled and then whined about the call like always. Against all odds Luka the Bitch missed the free throw that would have made it a 2 point game.

You can say we would have lost without Towns. I say if Towns had just played average in the first 3 games, we might have been the team looking for a sweep last night.

Our season needed to be saved because Towns didn't show up for the first 3 games.

Completely different. Doncic faked Ant up in the air, jumped and created contact. It's a common ploy in the NBA and the refs call it on the defender every time. KAT jumped into a stationary defender with his elbow out wide and caught him flush in the jaw.

Status: offline 		Saw on a program recently someone saying there are players and there are winners. The former being who put up the numbers during long seasons. The latter being the guys that want the ball with the playoff games on the line and, more often than not, deliver.

It was marginal. But yeah the refs aren’t going to call Doncic in a playoff game 4th quarter at home.

And Towns just can’t get suckered in like that playing with 5 fouls. Luka knew exactly what he was doing, trying to get Towns out of the game. And it worked.
