Good time to face Philly. They lost a tough one in OT last night and Embiid (41), Maxey (47), Harris (43) and Melton (41) all played big minutes.

Joel is dodging KAT and Rudy.

Shams:
76ers star Joel Embiid will miss today’s road game vs. Timberwolves on second night of back-to-back due to left hip soreness, sources tell
@TheAthletic @Stadium. It will be the reigning NBA MVP’s first absence of the season for 10-4 Philadelphia.

If the Wolves win the in-season tournament, does that snap Minnesota's drought of no championships for the Big 4 male sports since 1991?

What about the Wolves Summer League Championships in 2016 and 2019?

This is just a bit more important, don't you think?

Only to the players, because it’s big bucks to the winner. Otherwise what difference does it make to anyone else, besides it’s always nice to win ny regular season game.

It will be good sports talker on the day of the final, but that’s about it.

Actually big bucks (500k) to every coach and player---if I heard correctly.

How was that not called a foul on Towns? Did they change the rules? Is it a different rule in the NBA than it is in college?

Why are Edwards and Towns still out there with less than 3 minutes left?

If the Wolves win tonight they are guaranteed to advance to the knockout round in Las Vegas, regardless of the outcome of their next game. That would be fun.

It's really good to see the improved defensive consistency. The Wolves have become really good at half court defense. They have also ironed out some of their transition D issues. I think better shot selection has helped in that regard.

I believe this is the best Wolves roster of all time. Even KAT seems to be settling in and just playing.

Just browsing some stats today. Wolves team offensive effective FG%, which takes into account 3s, it's basically points per shot of any kind, is .552 which is 9th in the league, pretty good, but their defensive eFG% allowed is .493, the best in the NBA. That's almost a 6% difference. Teams take 89 shots per game. That's over a 5 point advantage for the Wolves on shots alone not accounting for turnovers, free throws etc. That's huge.

I have a couple questions for you guys. Last game I attended in person was one of the Western conference finals against the Lakers with my son. Well I saw the weekend ticket sale yesterday and thought a couple tickets would be a perfect gift for my 19 yr old grandson. Never using digital tickets I was reluctant, but went through the 3page fine print purchase agreement and decided to get them. I can understand customer objections to the $49 fee for 2 tickets totaling $214 but ok that is another battle. Turns out I missed the link that said the tickets are not transferable. Can’t get a refund either. So, my question to those with experience, do they check picture IDs when checking tickets? I’d have no problem letting the grandson take my phone if he could get away with it. Thoughts anyone, Other solutions? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I've never heard of a ticket not being transferable. In fact that's the beauty of digital tickets. They are so easy to transfer. Just email or text someone the code. Anyone who can show it on their phone will get in. They just scan it and that's it.

Well AXS reps say it is all the Timberwolves/Target Center policy simply applied by AXS; I call the Timberwolves number and in the bluntest manner hear a recorded "At the sound of the tone, leave your message." Nothing else, I am hoping after the weekend I might actually get a person on the phone, but I will see. I really don't understand why they would do it either.

It's slippery like the Super Bowl field.

You are worrying about nothing. Give him the login to your AXS app.

I do appreciate the input. That said, they could have the same problem as just lending him my phone. My real question is do they ask for photo ID from people with digital tickets? If so the scheme falls apart. Surly a number of you must have recent experiences.
Thanks again.

I have never been asked for a photo ID with a digital ticket. That would create a huge log jam at the entry gate.

Most digital tickets can be printed out and used that way.

I appreciate the responses. I had a online chat with a TWolves rep who assured me all I had to do is NOT transfer the tickets thru AXS rather just give my Timberwolves app signin to my grandson and he should be able to access the tickets and NO photo ID checks. Happier resolution than I thought.

As a separate issue, I was given the phone number 612 673 1234 as a way to contact the Wolves. I cannot imagine what the Wolves are thinking setting that up. It runs you thru a couple automated posts with options, but all options give you the same abbreviated message "At the sound of the tone, leave your message." Whether you select tickets, operator, what ever. No other info, no indication anyone will respond, nothing. Terrible impression for the organization. Anyway I'm a happy campers, Life is good.

The Twins don't allow printed tickets.

Embiid too hurt to play against the Wolves a few days ago, but healthy enough to put up a triple-double against the Lakers tonight. Amazing!

Super goofy look for the NBA to keep this special tournament floor in a game that means nothing regarding the in-season tournament anymore. Wolves logo centered on a trophy we can't win. They are insulting our intelligence.

Actually OKC was down 23 at one point last night to GS.....we were still in it as the tie breaker is margin.

I think we had to win by like 55 points or something crazy to have a chance.

GS had a better shot by winning big but we weren't out.
