ORIGINAL: Jeff Jesser That's very true Todd but Phil has a point. For us to make hay in playoffs I would say this: 1. The offense can't fall asleep for quarters on end. That falls on KOC, IMO 2. The D has to assert themselves early in the games like they did in the first 5 weeks. I don't know if it's age/injuries/got found out ect. One thing I know is that they aren't getting home like they did early and our backend is not constructed to hold up for 5+ seconds. We need to figure out why our pressure is not getting home. 3. The ST's have been fine. I'd like to see more but they are probably league average-ish. Not a reason we are winning or losing. 4. TO's in the RZ is a staple of the KOC offense. I don't know why but if that's not corrected, we will not win a playoff game. Let alone a couple... Their running game is predicated on Off Tackle runs with Jones; Oliver was missed yesterday. Hope he gets well soon. The good thing with the Gillmore injury (if there was one) is that Moreau and Griffin like Man Coverage better which doesn't allow for the quick routes to the TE and WR as much and a better chance to get home and zone blitz schemes. Gillmore is a zone cover corner according to what I read. So IOW the rushing game is predicated on the off tackle play, which in turn is predicated on Oliver being on the field? Stop repeating that as if it's their go-to rushing play from a wide array of great options. At the end of the day it's the only running play worth half a damn so they have to run it. Further, you repeat Oliver is key to that. So essentially, Oliver being out means the entire rushing attack is shut down. While there is an element of believability, it's a house of cards system whereby some heads in the regime need to roll.
