GREAT post Brad !!!

THIS:

....Playoff football is not a beauty contest. If running the ball can get you across the finish line, do it. We'd see Bill Belichick do it all the time, despite having Tom Brady. ....

KOC doesn't move to the short passing game when needed.....another thing that Tom Brady did also. Go 5 wide and get rid of the ball.
Against a team that loves to blitz we gave up on the run and went with Medium to deep passing routes most of the game.....we can blame the IOL but the scheme wasn't there either.

A good offensive game plan would have killed that Detroit defense last night.

Sam was off the whole game on everything but we were in a 1 pt game in the middle of the 3rd yet.

And then were were in a 22 point game on the way to a 31-9 trouncing.

Exactly. There's no moral victories on that nonsense put on display last night.

You guys flip faster than a coin. Did you cry last night? Grow up the playoffs haven't started yet. The road just got longer and tougher but my god....

Says the guy wrapped in the warmth of 'we were in a 1 pt game'.

LOL
The tough guy Bill is acting like a baby bawling all day after a loss and says that....quit projecting and stop crying.

Playoffs start next week.

Hey, since you are all about injury excuses what's your latest? And include the fact that near half of the Lions starters were on IR.

No excuses we got our ass kicked. We puckered up tight one game after winning 9....I am over it and on to the next. How about you?
Maybe you want to rub in Sam's performance on Brad a little more?

Yeah I might want to. So what. Who are you, the Vikings social media police? The board police?

Why does it bother you so much?

Yeah, a game for a playoff bye and HFA throughout the playoffs where we were crushed was merely "one test in the regular season"

Yep...again when do the playoffs start? Is our season officially over? Need another box of Kleenux?

So you have no excuses and have to attack others?

Says who? You forgot the shots you took and missed on.....Playoffs start next week don't they?

I'll post what I want to post. Deal with it. Enjoy your moral victory.

You are so pissy---people that move on a few hours later are saying it is a moral victory?
Go do some self reflecting.

I guess i need to believe that KOC will magically start getting play calls in on time, clock management will be good, and Sam will be perfectly calm on Monday Night. I can try to work on that but it probably won't happen.

Such an ongoing problem. And not real helpful to your O-Line when the defense knows when you have to snap it.

I actually thought we got away with a couple Delay of Games last night.

KOC has had three full years to get better on those aspects. Is Darnold still shell-shocked?

Sam played average at LA last time. He and KOC will need to get it figured out and fast. Defense looked ready until they got worn down end of 3rd quarter. We can't lose TOP in the Playoffs.....we have to have a running game.

I absolutely agree with you on the defense. Nobody is going to keep the Lions down if their offense is a complete no show.

Yep.

It's like the ref sees the clock wind to zero then the ball is snapped while he's turning his head to see if in fact the ball has been snapped.

We have one of the older defenses in the NFL----especially on the back end (Gillmore 34, Griffen 29, Smith 35, Moureau 30). KOC needs to rely or somewhat use the run game and shorter passing against the teams that want to grind us out like Detroit.

Just weird how much he loves to pass but he didn't spread out the defense and use no huddle.....that confuses me more than the clock management TBH.

That's the secondary you get when you have no cap.

Based on last night, Kwesi is probably breathing easier as the decision to franchise/extend/etc Darnold was made for him. He's probably looking forward to spending the full $77 million on other areas of the team. Whether Darnold turns that around remains to be seen.

Let's not forget who wanted to sign Justin Fields or Trey Lance by trading picks and giving them $25+ million. Thank god that didn't happen.

Griffen played 18 snaps, Moreau hasn't been active for a month (and really only played in 3 games this year). We played 2 old guys (Smith, Gillmore) and 3 young ones (Murphy, Bynum, Metellus) in the backfield.

What I have read we are the 2nd oldest defense next to Miami.

Yepper....that game cost him a ton of $$....his stock was rising big and then a stinker on a national broadcast. Another one next week.

I added to my post regarding your boys Fields and Lance.

Neither were exactly mine....just looking for an option better than Dobbs. D Jones and JJM isn't a bad two depending on what Jones wants next year.

We absolute got away with at least 3 from what I saw.

Sam played average at LA last time. He and KOC will need to get it figured out and fast. Defense looked ready until they got worn down.

I absolutely agree with you on the defense. Nobody is going to keep the Lions down if their offense is a complete no show.

We are. But you also have to include context. A couple old vets that are glued to the bench change your average age, but don't matter on the field.

While Detroit was playing guys they found at the Y before the game...

That's what's so hard to understand. Those guys were singling up or guys and we had ZERO answer.

Guys were open all night, but a combination of slower developing plays coupled with Sam's instance on holding the ball forever turned their defense into the 85 Bears.
