ORIGINAL: Richard Neussendorfer I guess i need to believe that KOC will magically start getting play calls in on time, clock management will be good, and Sam will be perfectly calm on Monday Night. I can try to work on that but it probably won't happen. Such an ongoing problem. And not real helpful to your O-Line when the defense knows when you have to snap it. I actually thought we got away with a couple Delay of Games last night. We absolute got away with at least 3 from what I saw. Sam played average at LA last time. He and KOC will need to get it figured out and fast. Defense looked ready until they got worn down. I absolutely agree with you on the defense. Nobody is going to keep the Lions down if their offense is a complete no show. We have one of the older defenses in the NFL----especially on the back end (Gillmore 34, Griffen 29, Smith 35, Moureau 30). KOC needs to rely or somewhat use the run game and shorter passing against the teams that want to grind us out like Detroit. Just weird how much he loves to pass but he didn't spread out the defense and use no huddle.....that confuses me more than the clock management TBH. Griffen played 18 snaps, Moreau hasn't been active for a month (and really only played in 3 games this year). We played 2 old guys (Smith, Gillmore) and 3 young ones (Murphy, Bynum, Metellus) in the backfield. What I have read we are the 2nd oldest defense next to Miami. We are. But you also have to include context. A couple old vets that are glued to the bench change your average age, but don't matter on the field.
