Doogie on Skor North said today that they called about Thuney but they just didn't have the draft capitol. I'm hoping that means that they will finally put resources on it.

So they couldn't scrounge up a 4th or the equivalent thereof. Pathetic.

To make it worse, it was a 2026 fourth rounder.

Maybe we have a plan to go younger(Fries). And it sounds like Thuney wants a big extension.

We didn't have a 2026 4th rounder to give them?

unless the Chiefs imagined the 4th to be a high one and ours to be low and that made the difference?

Like we didn't think chipping in the 2026 3rd might be reasonable?

Bears got a steal for Thuney for sure

Edit: I guess that was covered...lol

A calculator is needed to tabulate the number of needs, even just starters:

2-3 CB, all starters (depends on Blackmon)
2-3 IOL, all starters
2 DE, both starters
1 RB, starter

That's at least 7 starters and as many as 9. Perhaps some of the needs will be taken care of by players already on the roster. Redmond and Rodriguez at DE and McGlothern at CB look like the only realistic possibilities for that.

Not sure on safety, currently it's Metellus and Jackson by default.

Because of the quantites, a CB, an IOL, and maybe a DE need to be locked up during the tampering period. And there is a LOT of work to do after that.

Lots of work needed to be done.
I think Thuney wanted a big raise.

He's been getting paid 20ml per the last 3 years

So it's apparently official that Sam will not sign with us...

He's gonna get paid elsewhere and good for him!

I'm fully on board with the JJM plan! Still kind of assuming we try to keep Jones as our "insurance"...

but I am looking forward to what our "rookie" can do!

Yeah. I think Sam is going to get about 40-45 a year.

Professional rumor-monger Pelissero says we have a contract offer sitting on the table for Sam ... low-ball I'm sure but why not commit to your #9 'franchise' dude (as they've called him)? Like everybody else I assume there will be better offers ...

I just prefer posting a 'thank you for your service' online media blast with a door icon slamming shut.

Professional rumor-monger Jeremiah says if ATL boots Cousins we would make perfect sense.

In other words, there is a lot of nasty crap being flung around for the next couple of days. Its almost guaranteed to be baseless but the aroma says otherwise.

Of course, there's that wartime saying that, the shit you don't smell is the one that hits you ...

Darnold is gone! God, this is worse than the lingering mildew of whether Cousins would be gone.

Are you sure Darnold isn’t dangling around for more regular season champagne?
