Ya, but regardless, Salisbury is a blowhard and a total asshole.

Al Michaels can really be a jerk at times.

Ya, but he's still a great announcer.

I can't think of anything that Salisbury contributes.

Trent Dilfer is a pretty good studio analyst.

I really like Aikman as well, too bad Joe Buck ruins all the good Aikmen brings.

Yep.  Chris Collinsworth is still my favorite, however.

Tim Ryan is by far the best analyst out there to me.  Always offers great analysis and insight into the games.  e.x We get stuff like the Adrian Peterson is better without a lead blocker during the Vikings/Bears game and post game analysis regarding how the Vikings were in that set way too much on his weekly radio program.  I know I am always glad when he draws a Vikings game.

This is more a complaint about LOCAL news than national - but last Monday after our game against the Packers ...

... on both the 6:00 and 10:00 news our local channel 11 sports anchor mentioned that Nick Barnett suffered a season ending injury - but said nothing about Charles Gordon!    Hello?   You're in the Viking media area and you talk about a Packer injury but not a Viking one?    I'm sick of the attention that our local news gives to the Packers anyway, but usually they squeeze in Viking news at the same time.

That is terrible Lynn. I thought it was poor form for ESPN and NFL Network, considering that Gordan was our Starting punt returner and Nickle Back(which is virtually a starter). For the local station to blow it is bad, although, KARE 11 is the worst pro sports coverage in the twin cities. They really focus on the High School kids, College and the pro teams are an after thought. I know Rosey on 4 and that goofball Rod on 5, were concerned about Gordan.

Does anyone think it would influence anyone in the proper place if one were to write a letter to the MNF powers-that-be begging them to get rid of Tony Kornheiser?

I truly cannot stand that man and it's not JUST his unrelenting obsession with Brett Favre.   He adds nothing to the broadcast and in fact detracts from the event in a huge way with his odd comments and input.

Who would we write to?

Have you looked on the ESPN website for a "contact us" link?
Do they have site specifically for MNF? and and "contact us" link there?

Scott,

No.  It's much less effort to just ask people here for the information.

Okay, you shamed me into it.   I'll go look ...

I like the idea of dead people asking them to get rid of Kornheiser.   Even THEY can't stand it.

Okay - this is pretty cool.   At the bottom of the home page on ESPN.com they have a "contact us" link.  When you click on that you can click on several menu items that hone down exactly what you're writing about so it is sure to get to the right people.

So I shot off a message specifically under the category of:

ESPNTV
Football
Commentary/Announcers
Tony Kornheiser

.... so when it arrives at the other end they know exactly what you're writing about.   I encourage everyone here to send a note if they feel the same way.

You may also want to tell Roger Goodell, maybe he can use some of his influence-

Don't know what thread to put this in. I just read that Chad Hartman has been fired from KFAN. Wow! He's been a part of that crew for a long time.

Personally, I could never listen to him for more than a few minutes. He would take 20 minutes to tell a one minute story, and go off on a dozen different tangents before finally wrapping it up. And I can't believe it took them THIS long to also fire Darren "I would be Doogie" the sidekick. His delivery of the news was excruciating to listen to.

I was shocked to hear they got rid of the Franchise. I actually called When I lived in Robbinsdale.

That is when the station was the Whale or something in the early 90's, anyway Chad was trying to launch a sports talk show and when all we had were Tom and Dan, then Tom got too big for Dan and he muscled it into the KQ morning crew thing. There really was nothing out there dedicated to sports, anything that was dedicated for more than a half hour. The ironic thing was once KFAN was born out of the whale and got popular, Chad starting talking less and less about sports.

I like him for the most part, but you make a great point about spreading out a story to nowhere and then with the tangent there was always the threat that he would never come back to the point.

I remember when the FAN was launched, and listening to Chad and Dan was entertaining. That was a long time ago for sure.

They would NEVER bring up golf or soccer, Dan would just go off.

Is Guy Green still around anywhere?

Tom Barnyard. The irony is I had to find a new station to listen to in the am because I couldn't stand listening to his whiny babyness, it turned out to be the Fan. Fortunately he is on opposite the Bitter One, so I can switch back to KQ in the pm.

Tim, when did you live in Robbinsdale?  I was a RHS grad (class of '80) and I lived in the Golden Valley / Robbinsdale / Crystal area from '73 to '90 (and N. Mpls. prior to that).

2925 Zenith Avenue from 1988 to 1992. My first house a tan stucco on the corner with a detached garage. 3 blocks down the alley from North Memorial ....Which came in handy as my daughter was born there Dec 88 and my son, Feb 90. I worked for Radisson on 494 and 55 in Plymouth at the time and my wife worked for the state of MN in the Ford bldg St Paul. So buying the house in Robbindale was for affordability and halfway point for jobs purposes.

I was and 1981 grad from a town 90 miles Northwest of Fargo.

I worked with a gal back than that was an 81 grad of Armstrong, her parents lived a half a block away, her name was Jane Ann Streigle or something, I just remember the Jane Ann part, she worked in the gift shop, nice girl.

Yeah I was going to a conference in Bloomington in the late 90's maybe early 2000 and I clicked on to listen to him and Terri Train and she was calling him bandwagon, which he totally was, and I heard him utter his famous BLOW ME.........a kiss line, live. He actually got in a little trouble, scolding over that one.

Tom Barnard is a blow hard of Rush proportions and just as big a hypocritical control freak. He once drove through Long Prairie and thought he heard the little station swear and he turned them into the FCC. No lie, around 1991 or 92, they had to defend themself, luckly they had the tape on the time that the Tommy B was passing through. No swearing. I guess his grandparents had a lake place in the area and talked about Long Prairie often.

I lived at 34th & Penn, 26th & France, 36th & Major and I've made many trips to North Memorial (mostly broken bones & concussions).  I worked near hwy 100 & 55, literally a stone's throw from the KQRS building.  I could have probably hit Tom Barnard's car from our parking lot.
