The run D needs to be tougher. Though they did come up big the last 2 drives holding Judkins to no yards on the early downs while he was getting 7 or 8 before.

Maybe they were run blitzing? I can't tell with a Flores defense.

A win's a win against a scrappy opponent. Maybe this is the type of win that galvanizes the team, a loss here would have capsized the season. Going to the UK and Ireland and losing to 2 average teams would have ruined the team's morale.

Give Wentz credit, he can get flustered but he's a Josh Allen type gamer. I'd roll with him for another game vs his former team.

He's just too inconsistent, but I don't hate him at all

I can't imagine we don't go back to JJ, though

I wouldn't put JJ back behind this line. Though I thought Huber did alright vs a a strong DLine. I didn't hear Skule's name often unlike last week. Darrisaw just about kept Garrett in check.

It would appear so, they seemed to be clogging the lanes with more bodies the past few drives.

Under O'Connell it never seems like this team has control of the game until you look up at the scoreboard with 10 seconds left. I can't really explain how the team can be so inept and prolific from drive to drive. And typically pulling out close wins.

also - darrisaw did not play in the 4th quarter, was on a snap count, and exceeded it...blake brandel had never played center before - played the entire game....

True and thankfully they didn't call Skule for a false start on Addison's TD.

I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know what the grades will say, but for Brandel to step in and play the way he did, never having played the position before was damn impressive.

I missed the 2nd half. How did this horrible team with a horrible coach pull it off?

Wentz to Addison was all it took! Glad to see Addison playing again. Hope we've reached our limit on injuries as well. Love every win!!!!

KOC called some fantastic plays throughout the game, and so did BFlo.

Call a game wrong, and an 0-3 team with a beast at RB, and a QB with some potential can beat you.

KOC overcame some horrible QB play. Wentz seems to have trouble if a play breaks down, and he doesn't have the speed or elusiveness to make something happen afterwards.

There was a play where Wentz escaped the pocket and could run for a long 1st down, but there were 2 guys coming to make sure he wasn't going to get there. If he had the speed of McCarthy, or had just took an quick angle to the right or left (instead of running straight ahead right towards them), he might have gotten the 1st down.

Wentz was awful at times, but made some really nice throws in the 4th quarter, the TD to Addison was a beauty.

My .02

They looked sloppy, but we are starting a backup QB, a third string RG, third sting C, 2nd string turstyle at RT, Missing Van Ginkel, Missing Cashman, snap counting Hitman and Darrisaw...

I mean by the fourth quarter the only starter still playing on the Oline was Fries. And we still pulled it together and had a game winning drive.

Wentz' passes look slow. No zip, he's going to get some of those picked.

It's not often you go 0/2 in the turnover battle and still win.

Defense held them close long enough. Browns second TD was a perfect throw, if it were off by a cm Murphy would prbably have picked it.

Reichard missing that FG made this one more interesting.

Against an intense pass rush you need quick hitting pass plays, Slants screens etc that don't take a month to develop. Rodgers did it to us last week. If the ball is out quickly, there is no time for the pass rush to get to the QB.

One would hope we could have done better against a rookie QB...but we still won

Very reasonable take! I also noticed how little zip Wentz has on his passes. Very concerning going forward. Then again I really don't have any hopes for this team if he continues to start. If we're going to end up with 6 to 8 wins might as well get JJ back in ASAP.

They were talking about that on KFAN this morning. There was an even split of who should play once JJ is healthy...then the question was asked. Do you think Wentz can carry you to the Superbowl? consensus was pretty much a NO. So the one who asked the question said if it's no then you have to go with McCarthy. He needs the reps to see if he has it. He's not going to get them sitting on the bench. He hasn't played enough games. Once he's more used to the speed and how a WR is "open" when he's got just half a step on him. He's not processing fast enough on the field yet. Got to let him play until he gets there.

Just the turnaround in the 4th Quarter of the Bears game shows some hope.

Wentz is exactly what you want in a backup. a Guy that can come in and win you a couple games. Either JJ is the MAN or he's not. Time to find out for sure and give him the reins for the rest of the season.
