I'm tired of all the Hughes contract stuff...
From here on out I just want to watch some hockey and forget about that stuff. As long as he is here he is must watch TV along with Kirill and the gang. If it lasts beyond this season great, if not we have enough talent to still be a damn good team.

I hope this isn't true. Just want to pass it along here.

Just received some inside info from a couple of inside sources with the Wild. Larkin is going to be traded to New Jersey and Hughes is next. With New Jersey's acquisition of Hellabuck along with its current roster of all star talent, including Jack Hughes; it's poised to add its final piece in that of Quinn Hughes.

That would take some fancy contract maneuvering to fit the Hughes brothers, Larkin and Hellabuck onto the payroll.

Larkin is looking pretty unlikely now. It looks like the Wild just don’t have the assets Detroit wants. Larkin has opened his list to 10 teams now and it looks like a couple have put more attractive offers together.

At this point I would rather stand pat until the deadline and pick up Ryan O'Reilly as a rental for the stretch run. I just can't see us coming up with a way to get Larkin and to be honest I don't think he is worth what they are asking.

I still say it would be a lot less expensive and just as impactful to trade for a wing with offensive skill to pair with Yurov on the second line.

Big game tonight against Utah to stay on top of
the Central…and because I’m in Montana, it will be blacked out.
Ridiculous. Also Vegas and Seattle. 😡😡

Love the story about Michael McCarron's slam against the glass caused a fan to drop his beer - - - - and McCarron skated back later and slid a $20 bill through the opening in the glass to the guy.

Edit: The word "slam" might have been an exaggeration. Here is how it's described via Google:

quote:

Minnesota Wild forward Michael McCarron handed a fan a $20 bill through a camera hole in the glass after accidentally knocking over the fan's beer with the boards during pregame warmups.

Details of the Incident

• Date: October 22, 2026
• Location: Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta (during a game against the Calgary Flames)
• What Happened: While skating around during warmups, McCarron hit or brushed against the boards, causing a front-row fan's drink to topple over.
• The Gesture: Later in the warmups, McCarron skated back over to the glass, found the fan, and slipped a $20 bill through the photographer's port to cover the cost of the spilled drink.

I think they should wait another month....something like Hughes last year might pry loose.

Rumors are teams are ready to bid on Gus Bus.

Wild finished a 5 game road trip with 7 of 10 points last night beating Utah 3-1. It was a fun game to watch and looked more like a playoff game with both teams going at each other pretty hard and 3 fights included. You can tell Utah isn't there yet, but they have lots of young talent and will be a playoff team for sure. Looks like we lost Spurgeon after he took 2 blasts while blocking shots on the PK. The 2nd one looked like he took it in the soft spot between padding on the knee so I hope it didn't do any damage.

I was surprised Yurov was one of the fights. Dude threw some big punches early before Trochek returned with a couple later. I’ve noticed that none of our Russian players shy away from the rough stuff.

Yup, Yurov keeps proving he is right where he belongs. I didn't like Boldy dropping the gloves but at least he was smart enough to go down early before beating up his hands. Sturm and Trenin already have hands of stone so let them do that kind of stuff. Would be a different game with the Foligno's in the lineup and Utah would probably not be taking liberty's on our stars like they were last night.

Every game that goes by shows how ridiculous the "Wally, Yurov, Stramel, first rounder" is/was for Larkin. Wally is proving to be a stud and Yurov is a young, cornerstone, piece.

Detroit waited way too long......no to anything with Yurov and Lorenz or Stramel are getting time and showing they may be a no also.

I am in the Lorenz, Hartman/Trenin, and a first.

I don’t think Wally was ever part of the deal. It was more like Yurov, Strammel a first and Hartman or Trenin. Like I said, I think it would be easier and less costly to shop for a scoring wing to pair with Yurov.

None of these guys are what Detroit is looking for. They want an established top 6 quality forward to go along with a player like Yurov and a pick. You can certainly argue that’s too steep, but Detroit is sticking to it. With Larkin’s list now open to 10 teams, Detroit will get something closer to what they are seeking.
