Very tough game, with Branch back, and can the Vikings beat the Lions 3 in a row, and keep shutting Gibbs down ?

ESPN. Bold prediction: The Vikings will allow more points than they have in a game all season ... but also score more points than they have since Week 1. The Lions might get some wins against the mighty Minnesota defense, because Detroit ranks second in EPA per play against the blitz. But QB Kyler Murray and the Vikings' offense should have success against a Lions defense that ranks 31st in EPA per play. -- Walder

This could get ugly if the Lions score early.

If they don't, I think the Vikings win a close game. The Vikings are 17-0 until proven otherwise.

My psychic (maybe psycho) powers tell me the difference in a close game, will be whether or not Jameson Williams hauls in a pass. It could be just a 3rd or 4th down pass, or it could be for a possible TD.

If the Vikings are going to win today, the offense is going to have to at long last make a contribution. Getting a couple of first downs so we can put them on a long field when we punt won’t cut it. Crossing midfield and settling for field goals won’t cut it.

Illegal procedure on first down in the red zone has to stop. Slow developing gadget plays have to stop. Getting plays off as the play clock expires has to stop. These things constantly kill momentum.
