The more I listen to Jonny Flynn, the more I love the guy. He wants to be here, he wants to be a part of building something here, and I'm not worried about him ever causing problems in the locker room or in the community. Plus, he has the kind of charisma that has marked MN legends like Kirby and KG. If he turns into an All-Star, he's going to be a popular guy in this town for a loooong time.

I see more of Kirby than KG. More easy going and fun loving like Kirby. If he can play half as good as his personality he is going to be the most popular player on the WOlves right away. I was posting Kirby comparisons on ESPN not sure if I mentioned it here. Good call Pete.

Kirby, KG and Flynn.

The Good
Ellington was a good value pick at a position of need.
We strengthened our positon for next years draft.
Rubio has star potential.
Flynn by most accounts is an outstanding person and player.

The Bad.
Rubio doesn't seem to want to come here and probably won't for a year or two.
IMO Curry will be a better NBA player than Flynn.
We could've found a way to get Evans.
We might be worse than last year.

I don't like drafting 5 & 6 at the same position. IMO neither are great shooters or defenders.

My opinion doesn't mean a thing and I really hope I'm wrong about Flynn vs Curry.

*********************************
Your opinion does mean a lot, at least to me, but I'm going to remind you of the Flynn vs. Curry argument in a couple of years.

Obviously the experts and most people here don't believe it, but we may have landed the very best player in the draft.  Yeah, I'm high on Flynn.

Thanks Pete! He's a Wolve now and I hope you can serve me a lot of crow.

Steve wins.

What happened to Pete C? Has he been banned? I see his old posts appear as "Guest" now.

Good win for the Lakers today. Bynum's been playing well of late and I believe they're getting there.

I bet after losing today, Barnes won't come out this year for the draft.

If the NBA labor unrest doesn't detur a player from coming out, then losing in a tournament should not make much difference. Its the money baby, the money. Is Barnes is good as his hype? If he is going to be the top 3 in this years draft, then you go pro now. If you drop down to 5 or below, you stay in school and hope you are among the top 3 in next years draft. It may be that any one of 8 players could be the first pick and the pecking order is up in the air. Did anybody say crystal ball?

It's just my guess - he seems like a guy that'll stay in school for another year to try and go deeper in the tourney. I actually thought he'd said something to that effect a while back.

We do have a 2011 draft thread to use instead of the 2009
