I've heard nothing about his father. My deepest sympathies, having lost my own father a few years ago.

I still can't stand Bo Ryan and I hate Wisconsin basketball with a burning white hot passion.

Eliason will be out vs FLA State after turning an ankle in practice.

No post depth- that'll hurt.

Gophs playing well so far. Up 26-13 with 8 minutes left in the half.

Side note. And, let me state my disclaimer. I hate Bob Knight as much as Matt Cooke, maybe more.

That said, is it me or does Saunders and Frachella (whatever his name is) sound like this:

BK: when my kid did that back in 68, i threw water on the team.

Sau/FF: that's right caoch. You ran a tight ship.

BK: if i were coaching the Gophers i would stab Hollins and piss on his grave for that shot

Sau/FF: you're the best coach!

The Gophs would have been sunk w/o Oto coming back and playing all those minutes. Joey King was a wreck out there, cheap, silly fouls.

Malik Smith has one more game left. Hopefully he won't have to shoot the ball again.

Yep, I'm the King of Over-exagerration.
But I'm going to proudly say it, even after sleeping on it ....
That was one of the worst BB games I've ever seen.
The last five minutes and OT were brutal, awful, horrific.
As Jeff noted, being talked to by the three worst announcers in history did not help either.
The Knight ass-kissing was vomit-inducing. They spent twelve minutes at the end of the game discussing the ball brushing against an official. Probably because they could talk about how it related to them.
Anyhow I digress.
Walker was outstanding with his FTs at key times. He was frustrating at getting the ball to the rim beforehand.
The Hollinses seemed asleep.
The guard play was atrocious. The BB IQ was almost non-existent.
The final five minutes and OT played out for an hour. Oh, and the refs were absolutely pathetic.
And we won. ......

The refs had to discuss almost everything.

The traveling on Walker was horrid. not evenlooking at the ball. The other near-blown call was a joke.

The announcing was putrid as the game went. Bob needed to get to bed. He was out of it.

The only WORSE display of hoops was the loss in overtime to Purdue this year. about 3 x worse than this one, with such a display of shee-ite ball.

They'll need to pick it up or get crushed.

Am still surprised Richie didn't foul, but I'll compliment him. Any team that can run 4 guards out there, and Oto Oseniks as your post, and still hang in there long enough to win, is a team that was coached pretty darn well.

Completely agree with your last point Ed. Pitino was pulling strings last night, and how about Oto stepping up and giving us huge minutes when he was supposed to be retired. I thought he played exceptionally well for not playing in over a month. I actually thought Austin played really well last night, Dre a little better but still not great, and Little Dre was again pretty good. Malik Smith must have pulled out his incriminating pictures of Coach Pitino to get all that PT.

I also think that any one of us could have coached FSU to a win last night. We have NO size, and he sits his big guys down and matches up to us. They ran hardly any offense into the post where they would have absolutely slaughtered us. We were playing a guy at center who has retired and 4 guards.

I've saved the best for last. I actually like Fraschilla usually, so I'll be nice to him. (although you're right SMF, the brown nosing to Knight was nauseating) I think Bobby was drinking and was getting more and more roasted as the game moved on. I have never heard such ramblings in a game. We get it, you don't like ball screens, the refs foot was out of bounds, throwing the ball up in the air to waste 7 seconds........ blah, blah, blah. BTW, does he have a grenade launcher to keep the ball up in the air that long??? And most annoying.... predicting whether FT's are made or not. I was about ready to throw the damn TV out the window.

And I absolutely would have fouled both in regulation and OT. I wonder if Pitino was worried we wouldn't be able to rebound the miss with our midget lineup on the floor???

I couldn't believe FSU didn't use that 7' backup center in the post. They should have pounded MN inside better than that.

He at least could try to be physical and push the bigger guys inside.

But shooting-wise, he's a mess. Has been for a long time.

Kudos to Oto. Mav was lost last nite.

I hadn't thought of that, and you're probably right. He at least provided a little more size on D. I know he's a good FT shooter, but his feet were pulling out on both of his attempts. Gotta stay committed to the shot.

Smith has the yips as a shooter. Zero confidence. Something like 2-his last 36 FG tries.

Still amazed we won
Great stuff drew and Ed
Agree on all
How bad do you have to be to not beat us as hamstrung as we were?
Anyone else embarrassed to look the Pitino family in the eye?
Dad behind the bench got a real eyeful of how much work Sonny has ahead of him.
Thinking back ... The most frustrating part to me was the total inability to think the game out with seconds left.
Ummmmmmmmmm, if you are up five, with thirty seconds left, and you step aside and let your opponent go unimpeded to the hole, they will catch you. And then we did it again in OT.
Loved the look on Pitinos face towards the end .... It looked like it was dawning on him that he simply has some kids here that just don't understand what they're doing. You could see his mind was racing.
I'd like to rip him, but as you say, winning with THAT lineup on the floor at the end .... Was impressive. Somehow.

Momma Pitino looks like Joan Rivers when all smilin'

That work done didn't turn out that well.

THen again, most of that work has never helped those getting it done look any better either.

Gives me the creeps.

Completely dismayed by that. Don't want to give up the 3 point play? Fine, but at least put up some defense.

Not the first time some of these guys have done that this year.

Oto at least challenged the last shot. Thankfully it missed.

One tendency of this Gophs team is to start well and fade. If they start poorly,it's a blow out.

We did put on a clinic on how NOT to hold a lead. I think too many players make the mistake of thinking "not fouling" means don't play defense. FSU was going the full length of the floor in less than 5 seconds and getting layups. That puts a lot of pressure on you to make all of your FTs.

Still, it was a good win. SMU will be a good game, the PG matchup between Moore and Little Dre will be fun to watch. I look for Big Mo to have a big game.

Kind if interesting to see the contrast tonight, between the oldest schooler and the youngest schooler.
Brown and Pitino feel like they're in the same "family".
Kind of worried about the game.
Sure feels like the Stanford blowout from a couple years ago, but we shall see.
Would be a nice boost going into next year.

Yup, unfortunately.
Seems like all our reasons to lose and all the excuses are already laid out.
Sure would be nice to go on a run of success for a change, in important games.
Gotta start somewhere.

Sadly, we're playing against a coach who remembers when it actually WAS the National Championship.
