Status: offline 		I love the "Manning face" as Bill Simmons calls it. After EVERY loss to the Pats. And I agree, he's great, but he's never been on the Brady level to me. We're finally seeing what Brady can do with Peyton's level of weaponry. Until this year Brady never had ONE receiver as good as TWO of Manning's (Wayne and Harrison). And Peyton has had 2 top 10 level (in history) all around NFL backs in Faulk and Edge.

Brady is the best QB in football right now.

I think not only is he the best in the game today, but we have to start putting him in the all-time argument. I LOVE Montana, but it's tough to deny Brady might pass him at this point.

But what do the numbers say? Status: offline 		That's a solid point, JC. I'm as big a fan of Montana as any, but on the flipside: Brady hasn't had Jerry Rice/John Taylor/Roger Craig/Brent Jones with him either. Montana's weapons were better over the long haul. Plus he had Walsh running his offense. I see arguments both sides, but I'm simply saying we at least have to have Brady in the argument at this point. That is saying a lot.

On the defenses, I don't know that I agree. Those Niner defenses were awesome in their own right. GREAT secondary, and Ronnie Lott was just a beast. Plus a pretty good DL.

Status: offline 		Travis Henry Passes Lie Detector & Drug Test Tue Nov 13, 2007 ESPN reports Denver Broncos HC Mike Shanahan said RB Travis Henry passed a lie detector test and a recent hair sample taken from Henry came back negative for marijuana. "If the tests were positive, Travis would not be on our football team right now," Shanahan said. "When he went back and took the hair sample and that was negative, the lie detector test and that was negative, we'll let due process take care of itself. If Travis took a test and it was positive, after what he promised me, he wouldn't be on the football team right now." Henry is trying to keep the league from suspending him over the results of a drug test earlier this season. He'll present his case to the NFL in Phoenix on Friday. If he's unsuccessful, he faces a year's suspension. Shanahan is confident that won't be the case. Shanahan said he doesn't expect to hear back from the league on a ruling until after his team's game against the Tennessee Titans, Henry's former team, next Monday night. "I don't think they would do that," Shanahan said. "You practice somebody during the week and not let them play Monday night? I don't think that's been done before. I'm sure it will be the day after or the week after." Either way, Shanahan believes in his running back, who signed a five-year, $22.5 million free agent contract that included $12 million in guarantees this offseason after the Titans released him in a cost-saving move. Henry, who had been suspended for four games in September 2005 for violating the league's substance abuse policy while in Tennessee, was weeks away from cycling out of the drug program when a random test came back positive. Henry sued the NFL to keep from being suspended for a year. He contends the league violated its substance abuse policy by not allowing his expert to be present for the testing of his urine sample. The lawsuit is separate from his hearing this week in Phoenix.

Status: offline 		To me, the Pats have to blow out some good teams in the playoffs to reach that level. Or you have to play some classic games SF in 81 had the great game with Dallas and a Super Bowl with a goal line stand In 84, a team I consider possibly the best of all time, they won every game except one loss by 3 points. In the playoffs they beat the next 2 Super Bowl Champs by a combined 44-10 and then smoked Dan Marino The 88 team beat the Vikings and Bears 62-12 The 89 team beat all of its opponents by a combined 126-26 The Pats SB winner eek by almost every team

I read something a while back that stated that the very best urine tests for drugs still resulted in 10% false positives. Hopefully they test twice if positive, or use the hair sample. It shouldn't be left up to your appeal to defend yourself on a test that is inaccurate one out of 10 times.

Status: offline 		NFL to Reinstate Ricky Williams Wed Nov 14, 2007 ESPN's Chris Mortensen reprots NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to reinstate Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams after a suspension that lasted 18 months because of Williams' violation of the league's substance abuse policy, sources told ESPN. The Dolphins have been notified of the commissioner's decision. It is unknown if the team will welcome him back but it is expected they will have a two-week roster exemption to make that decision. :smoke:

Lots of goofy smiles. A much more philosophical approach to going winless. However, they better be prepared for a wiped-out snack table at team meals. "Munchie" bill will go way up from here out. :smoke: From ESPN - As part of the NFL drug treatment program, Williams underwent therapy for the past 5½ months in Boston and benefited from the treatment, Steinberg said. "This is the program working exactly as it should -- treating a player for an underlying life problem in a positive and sophisticated way, and returning him to health," Steinberg said. "The Dolphins, or whatever team, is getting a highly motivated player with a new lease on life."
