True, but that doesn't stop players from shooting on empty nets. But really, I think the golf example is the best one I gave. Should a player stop playing at their peak because their competition can't approach that level? I say no. On the other hand, you have said that you would mind if the Vikings ran up the score as the Patriots do, so I would say this is something reasonable people could reasonably disagree about.

MOst of the games I don't think they are running up the score. But throwing on 4th down up 42 points is running it up. I don't think the Miami game was running it up. 21 points up in the 4th Q he puts Brady back in after the INT for 6. I don't have a problem with that. A team can certainly score 3 TDs in 10 minutes. The Washington game as different. 38-0, 11 minutes left in the game, 4th and 1 and you go for it? The Bills game he left Brady in at 42-10 but it was still the end of the 3rd quarter. That made it 49-10 and since Buf turned the ball over and the defense scored it was 56-10 before he had a chance to pull Brady. That one is kind of hard to fault because the defense scored.

Perhaps if it were the Packers ...[/quote] See maybe I am remembering wrong, but I remember the 98 team scoring most of their points by the 3rd quarter and coasting in the 4th. I specifically remember debates about if Denny pulled the starters early enough, but I do know they were gone most of the time. And I certainly don't remember them going for it on 4th down like Bill B does. I guess we ended up cheated, we just didn't realize that team was making a mistake and losing a spot in "history" for not running it up enough. BTW - I don't blame the players at all. This is all fueled by Bill B. If he has them on the field and is calling for the plays, they have to run them. I just don't like how Bill B coaches. I think it's megolamania.

Denny did leave starters in far too long and it cost us the NFC CG. Remember that John Randle was hurt on the last game of a blowout playoff win over Jake the Snake and was pretty much useless the next week. Randall also got hurt at the end of a game that Brad, who was healthy by then, could have played in.

Affirmative. I believe Coach Billicheat is a megolmaniac. His 'style' of coaching will come back to haunt him...some day...some other time. While I never hope for a player (except Brett Favre) too get hurt on purpose, someone will send a 'message' and when it happens, it'll be too late! Then Billicheat can look into the mirror for a little self-examination! :evil:

Jeez, being Rams fan this year is like being a Vikings fan.... with an additional sharp stick or two jabbed into your eyes repeatedly. They have had a brutal run of poor plays, poor decisions, poor efforts, wow.

I just got home, and saw the 24-21 NE over Philly score and I told my wife Vegas must be calling in their markers with the refs. No sooner do I say and the take a touchdown away from Moss on a bogus offensive PI call.

According to ESPN at 2:45 Central. Legal rep close to Taylor reports that Taylor is Clinging to life. DRs are worried. It is feared that Oxygen to the brain was lost. No other procedures are planned. Prayers for him and his family, this looks way worse than one would think on a gunshot to the leg.

Boy my only real interest in tonights game is to see how Teddy Ginn looks now that he's got a QB throwing him the ball. I thought Beck was the best NFL QB of this draft, I think Miami got a nice steal there. Tough matchup tonight against a tough Pittsburgh D though.

So apparently Eagle Fans have some competition in the category of "Most Classless in NFL". From a New York Times article about increased security at Giants Stadium: The scene at Gate D was markedly different during halftime of the Jetsâ€™ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous week, when several hundred men congregated on one of the ramps and chanted at the few women in the crowd to bare their breasts. If the women did not comply, plastic beer bottles and spit were launched in their direction. There were about 10 security guards standing near the bottom of the ramp, but the behavior was not stopped. According to several fans and stadium workers, such behavior has been going on at Jets home games for years.

I put my picks in this morning and I feel like a heal. I weighed Sean's injury into effect, wondering how it would affect the team. This was before I realized he passed. What a terrible and pointless tragedy.
