Status: offline 		One of my friends is in a league where he had Garcia at QB for his fantasy team. He thought Garcia would be out this week and his 2 backups are... you guessed it, Campbell and Grossman. He was agonizing over the decision yesterday of which one to play. This was for his first round of the playoffs too. I just laughed at his luck when I saw the recap and box scores of the game.

The Pats have dominated teams at home except the Eagles, the Patriots own the Steelers recently, Brady can beat the blitz as well as anyone, Willie Parker and the O-Line haven't done anything to warrant them having a power run game (still hanging on to past memories), and the Steelers have looked terrible recently scoring 16, 3, & 24 points against teams that the Pats put up 38, 48 & 34 points respectively.

They played in some real shitty weather and field conditions lately. I have a hard time believing anyone would have scored a lot of points in those games.

I think the NFL now stands for "National Fine League" the way they are doing things this year. 3 Ravens were fined for integrity of officials. Where is the penalty to the ref for calling Rolle a "boy"? These things should go both ways.

Status: online 		Jim, All it said was that the officials were "cleared" of the charges against them. It basically came down to a he said/he said deal, and it sounds like the league believed the officials and not the players. I know there isn't any way to chart this, but I'd be curious to know if there have been more complaints about officiating in recent years compared to the decades before. Probably not. It's just that the recent stuff is fresh in our minds.

Lot's of video/audio recording going on at NFL games.

 Imaginary scenario: After a play by the patriots some official says: "boy, you guys should know you can't hold a guy 13 yards down field like that in a close game" ( throws a flag for holding...) Ravens player: "BOY?? BOY??!!??? WHO YOU CALLIN A BOY!!!! (Stomp and WHINE like a little girl not getting a pony for Christmas....) throws flag into stands.... REF: Boy, that was uncalled for , 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct... Ravens player: BOY!!??!!?? BOY!!!! you !@$@%^%#$%@$@$%$@# How dare you use the word boy in my presence!!!! I'm telling daddy Roger on you.... whine, whine, whine.... :lol: Easily one of the LAMEST excuses for losing I have ever heard....

Status: offline 		Still these fines are getting out of hand. If a player gets a penalty for a late hit on a QB, not only is it a 15 yarder, but a $15,000 fine. IMO, this is getting excessive.

Status: offline 		Udeze's appeal hasn't been reviewed yet. Udeze's Appeal of Fine to be Heard Tuesday -- The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota Vikings DE Kenechi Udeze said his appeal of a $7,500 NFL fine for a hit to the head of Green Bay QB Brett Favre is scheduled to be heard Tuesday.

Williams was the top pick in the 2006 draft, which caused much ridicule for a team that passed on RB Reggie Bush. Was it the right choice? Bush has struggled in his second year, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He has eight fumbles but is second in the NFC with 73 receptions, albeit for only 5.7 yards per catch.

Status: offline 		NFL Monitoring Cowboys Sun Dec 9, 2007 Fox Sports' John Czarnecki reports the NFL will be watching to see if any Cowboy makes a late hit on Detroit QB Jon Kitna after some of the Cowboys, especially CB Terence Newman, took offense to what Kitna said a year ago after Detroit's shocking 39-31 win in Texas Stadium. Here's what got Kitna in trouble with the Cowboys: After last year's win, he said of Dallas LB Bradie James, "Sometimes I don't know that he knew where he was at." Also, he said Newman could be beaten because "he's not (Seattle's) CB Marcus Trufant. He doesn't have that kind of ability." Kitna bypassed the weekly conference call with Dallas-Fort Worth reporters. But he did address his January comments with the Detroit media on Wednesday. "The media department here prepared me for that and told me about that. That was something that unfortunately has been taken as something that was serious," Kitna said. "It was something that I said to my hometown radio station after our season was over, and we were having a good time back there. It was really nothing that was a personal thing. Unfortunately it's been used in a way that I was trying to degrade players and that's really not what it was about. ... Are they going to want to hit me harder? I doubt it." During an interview on Sirius Satellite Radio this week, Newman said, "Basically what it boils down to is you've got to watch what you say. Your mouth can't write checks that your (butt) can't cash. He better just hope I don't blitz off the edge because I've got 15, 25, 30 (thousand dollars), however much (money) it would be for a fine."

The only mistake was not trading down a spot or two, but we don't know if anyone would have jumped on that anyway.

Just because a guy doesn't get 15 sacks his rookie season, doesn't mean he won't be a great football player.
