Yep, it'll probably be a game yet.
Lots of seniors for ND.

I thought the Big East was supposed to be the best conference, top to bottom, but I believe that Connecticut is the only survivor. The Big Ten didn't do much better, though. If I'm not mistaken, there is only Ohio State and Wisconsin left. Which conference has the bragging rights with the most teams in the Sweet 16? The ACC?

Big Least Conference has 2. Marquette and UConn. ACC in a "down year" has 3.

I thought FSU had a great chance to win this game (and bet against the spread of 5), but I did not think they'd put this kind of a whuppin' on them from start to finish. Impressive. Might we have a Florida Final 4 on the right side of the bracket?

I just really believe (biased I know) that the ACC is much better than was given credit for this year. FSU is a good team. VaTech is a solid team, and should have made it. Clemson should not have had to "play their way in" IMO.

BigEast probably is the best "top to bottom" but 11 teams is a bit much to me, IMO, for any conference to get. And the SEC was overrated (Georgia in, UT a 9, Florida a 2, etc.).

In the past couple hours .... an 11 thrashed an 3, another 11 handled another 3, and a 10 demolished a 2.
Minute.

I'm with ya. Getting closer and closer, at least for this year.

I do think the tourney games aren't always a straight-up reflection of the better team though:

1) Matchups matter. Some teams just match up better with certain other teams.
2) Upsets happen.

Heck of a day overall.

And coaching really is big in a format like this.

Doesn't change the facts. Upsets happen, and Notre Dame was the least surprising of all. They were 70% to win, which means they were 30% to lose. That's a pretty substantial edge, but it's not all that surprising that they lost.

Notre Dame would have been an underdog to Purdue.

that too.

Do you concur with my thoughts on Few/Barnes? Both are "good" coaches IMO. But neither is all that great to me. Plenty of games where they've had more talent and simply been outed too early IMO.

Texas hadn't been playing that well of late. They went as far as I expected. I didn't consider them real contenders.
At this point Ohio State looks like the favorite, but I know how fast that can change.

I'd foul here if I was WI. Why let so much time tick off?

And Butler buries the shot as the shot clock hits 1. Terrible decision by WI to not foul.

Butler with a very shaky ending, but it looks like they will hold on. If Wisconsin had played fullcourt press like that the whole game, Butler wouldn't have had a chance.

Tonight the favorites are dominating the early games. Not much suspense so far.

Butler does it AGAIN! This team accomplishes more with less than any team in college. Unbelievable.
