As part of the Jazz’s COVID-19 response, shootaround availability was done in the ZBBC media room today rather than on the court. As Rudy Gobert got finished discussing the situation, he stood up, leaned over and made it a point to touch every mic and recorder in front of him. 😂

Donovan Mitchell tests positive as well
Team cites that Gobert "was careless" in his interactions with other players.

That just sounds weird.

Not really finding the humor in that.

Especially if he knew he had been infected with this crap at the time.

That was kind of my point. That tweet didn't age well.

I doubt he knew he was infected, but still a dumb thing to do.

Its super awesome that more and more players are doing this, but team owners should be absolutely embarrassed that it's happening.

Didn't Cuban do something similar?

Either way Zion showing a lot of maturity for a young man.

So many cats (players) doing the right thing.

Meanwhile billionaire owners worried about their bottom line, not their people.

The Lakers have returned approximately $4.6 million that they received from a federal government program.

The program was intended to help small businesses weather the economic burden caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

I would have never called myself a Piston fan back in the day.
But THANK GOD they came along, or the MJ LoveFest would be even more overbearing.
Love that Isiah Thomas still pisses Michael off. Glad someone does.

the 30 for 30 on the bad boys a couple years ago was outstanding

Bill Laimbeer was a jerk then, and apparently still relishes being one.

I just cannot imagine him coaching women's basketball, which he has done for some time.

My son, a big NBA fan, has watched the Bad boys 30/30 and watching The Last Dance

Says he'd loved to have watched the NBA in that era. Says sometimes he tires of most players being buddies on the floor and not really getting after it like they were allowed to in that time.

Again this morning, reiterated that he'd do the same things.
They knew what it would take to win, and they did it.
Mad respect for that.

Sure seems like it made for better games.

Isiah Thomas ranking of the best players he ever played against.

1. Kareem
2. Bird
3. Magic
4. Jordan
5. Dr. J.

Me thinks he doesn't like Jordan.

Perhaps Magic, and Isiah aren’t that tight anymore either.

Putting Bird above Magic? Needling him a bit?

A post from someone who works for the Avalanche. For context, Layne Vashro was a long-times Wolves poster over at Canis and a brilliant sports analytics mind. He was hired a number of year ago by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, who own the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Rams and Arsenal Football Club. He's the Senior Sports Analyst for the Nuggets.

-----------

NHL is waiting for the NBA.

I work for the same organization that Layne left here to join (he and I tried to grab lunch a few times but it never worked out. We each work at different campuses). Anyway, I’m on the NHL side of things in the TV world. I can tell you that the return of major sports in this country is all gonna depend on what the NBA chooses to do. They will have a similar plan, but the NHL will let the NBA take the lead. It would be a terrible look if the NBA cancelled and the NHL went forward (or vice versa) because one will end of looking like they made a huge mistake either way. I’ve heard the Nuggets are working out again with heavy modifications and restrictions (1 or 2 players at a time, no weight room, and that they have to shut down the practice court for a full clean every other day etc). They are no where near full workouts or practice.

But, with the millions of dollars already lost in revenue, you can be sure they will do everything humanly possible to get back on the court/ice. The fact that Nascar and MMA have started back up is huge and that the rest of the sports world is taking note of what they are doing and what they can mimic to keep everyone involved safe. Broadcasts aren’t gonna look the same and there aren’t gonna be fans, but I’d expect things to start back up beginning of July. If I’m a betting man I’d say we get some 7-10 game end to the regular season (in hub cities). No team wants to jump right into the post season without some real games to shake off the rust, regain some chemistry and figure out how to play in empty arenas (which is a huge concern for players and coaches. They rely on the fans for energy).

The NBA has Orlando/Disney World as a clear frontrunner for return-to-play site for resuming 2019-20 season, sources tell me and @sam_amick. Orlando has gained significant seriousness among other cites such as Las Vegas.
