Jerry Sloan passes:

IMO Sloan was one of the good ones. It doesn't hurt though having Malone and Stockton for a good portion of his coaching career.

Best coach to never win a championship? He’d be right up there. But here in Bud Grant land we have a strong contender too.

The New York Knicks and Tom Thibodeau are finalizing a five-year deal to make him the franchise's next head coach, sources tell ESPN.

I think Thibs will turn the Knicks around and make us look even more incompetent for not sticking with him.

Thib's system no longer works in today's game.

Neither does his personality chive with the players.

Thibidou becomes the 13th Knicks coach in the past 19 seasons. What are the odds that he will be the one to finally bring stability?

I predict a path very much like the one he had here. Maybe an initial bump in wins as he does attempt instill a fundamental approach. But unless he has completely re-invented himself his system and methods do not fit with the times. His act will quickly wear thin with fans and players alike and he’ll be gone by 2022-23 season.

I agree.

Hard nosed defense is almost impossible with the blatant disregard of basic rules. (moving screens, carrying the ball, flops called fouls)

I stand by my statement. He could coach better than Saunders in his sleep.

Hard nosed defense is fine. It's all the other stuff that makes him a difficult coach.

And flopping isn't particularly a problem any more. There are specific rules against it, and they are enforced.

It was super obvious the game has passed Thib's by as coach of the Wolves.

The bubble has been working really well, why risk effing it up?

Adrian Wojnarowski@wojespn
Players will be allowed to bring in family and "established longstanding personal friends," into The Bubble, per memo shared with teams today.

Totally agree.
I'm sure players are crying, and players run the league.
Keep making concessions until it is a problem? If it gets established there, it will be tough to turn it around. By the time they know, it might be a mess

Spurs miss the Playoffs for the first time in 22 years.

And all it took was an historic pandemic.

Lillard is the truth.
Lakers should win the series, but Lillard is a baaaaaad man.

I want the Lakers to win it all to lock down the LeBron GOAT narrative. However, people will argue that no matter what anyway.

Lillard has been the best player in the Bubble so far.

Unfortunately the "best" team didn't get in. Phoenix really came together strong as a super fun team. Went 8-0 with wins over The Clippers, Heat, 76ers and Mavs twice. But it wasn't enough to force a play-in.

I love your guy. Always a Minnesota fan and a Celtic fan, but Lillard has been a favorite of mine from the start.
Really tough to find anyone playing better than him.
