Status: offline 		After a full day of hockey I went to bed after the Gopher game figuring I'd read about the finish between UMD and UND.
I had a feeling UMD would find a way to pull it out, they always seem to in the NCAA's, and they did.
So there will be 2 Minnesota teams in the Frozen Four for sure and possibly 3.
Minnesota had a good showing yesterday the way all of the teams played. I hope it continues today and we get to see 3 teams advance to the finals.

Status: offline 		Minnesota will have 3 of the 4 teams in the Frozen Four! Too bad BSU couldn't have pulled off one more upset to make it the North Star Cup. Pretty good showing for the state!

Wouldn't that have been amazing for BSU to be the 4th Minnesota team in the Frozen Four. As is 3 out of 4 finalists and not one of those three the U of M. Can't let U Mass win. Go Huskies. I can't believe the year I pretty much don't follow them they finally get NCAA success. Previous heartbreak of #1 overall seeds losing in the first round. Win it guys. I still got my jersey and I can still squeeze into it.

Have watched the boys all year and have been very impressed by their play all year.

I think they had a couple of lapses on the D which cannot happen next game.
But they kept in the game and got the win.

Thank you. I try to make it difficult for you. UMass came back for the win. Interesting. I wasn't rooting for UMass, but it frustrates me all the athletes missing so many games this year in all sports and that having a huge effect on results. IF those top UMass players miss the final and SCSU wins the title I will consider the title tainted by the missing UMass players.

I was unable to watch, but I knew that UMD was up 2-1 in the third period. I see that UMD buried UMass in shots on goal. Seems like that game had good goal tending. The SCSU/Mankato game based on shots and goals allowed, both goalies were sieves. Superstar Mankato goalie Dryden McKay gave up 5 goals with only 17 saves. Hrenak gave up 4 goals with 25 saves.

Status: offline 		I was worried that there were too many defensive lapses against Mankato the other night and the three goals so far have all come from defensive breakdowns.
Very disappointing.

Not over, but not looking good.

When they had their chances they took each and every one of them and made them count.
They played a solid game tonight and we just could not get that break.

A 1/4 inch and the boys could have had the first goal and who knows how that would have changed things up.
The collision between players that led to the 2 on zero chance and first goal for them... these things happen.

I hope the boys from St. Cloud keep their heads up. Sometimes it just is not your night.
There are a lot of teams who wanted to be here and teams that were expected to be here in the final game who were at home watching.
Disappointing game tonight but not much was expected of this team and they played so very well all year long.

Here is hoping they can build on this and have another strong year next year.

I will be waiting and counting down the days until next October for the start of the next season.
I will once order up my NCHC package to watch the games. I have not missed a year in a long long time.
Great to be able to watch NCAA hockey and top quality too of the NCHC.

Shall be interesting as the state welcomes a sixth team next year.

I didn't catch most of the game, but I will say from what I saw they sure didn't lose from lack of effort.
As a hockey fan from the twin cities I don't see many NCHC games since most games are PPV, so I wasn't sure how good they were.
I was hoping for an all Minnesota final and that didn't happen, but St Cloud, Duluth, and Mankato did us all proud.
Another team playing D1 hockey next year means more chances for Minnesota boys to play at the next level.
Even though Covid made for a difficult season, the simple fact that these kids kept at it and performed as well as they did is great.
Looking forward to next season and hoping for fans in the stands by then!
