Anyone guess Teixeira? Too old? What about Adrian Gonzalez? And my surprise pick is Jhonny Peralta. He's played for a long time in the league, even though he's been pretty average.

Tex is too old. Has 1398 hits though, at 31.

And Pete comes in and blows away the competition in one post.

Peralta it is. Well done, sir.

That one really shocked me. Has 1049 and is just 29 years old.

No chance I would have gotten it without the teammates hint. But when I thought about possible Tigers, he was the only one who made sense.

I know this is the trivia thread, but what do you guys think of the chances of some of these guys to make it to 3,000? Again, my thought would be:

1-Jeter, obviously a lock.
2-Pudge, 39, 2842. Going to be really tough for him, playing behind Ramos. But maybe.
3-Vizquel, 44, 2831. I don't see it. He's only a bench player now so it might take him 2-3 more years.
4-ARod, 35, 2762. Virtual lock, barring injury.
5-Damon, 37, 2662. Might be pretty tough for him too. But maybe, with the shape he's in.
6-Chipper, 39, 2562. Don't see it. He'll retire in the next year or two.
7-Vlad, 36, 2511. I could see this one. But it will all depend on him and how long he wants to play.
8-Tejada, 37, 2350. No chance.
9-Abreu, 37, 2342. No chance.
10-Ichiro, 37, 2342. I could see him being the type of player that hangs on, and it's a really important record for him. I say he makes it, at the age of 44 or something.

So from that list, after Jeter, I see only 2-3 making it. After that, the next real threats for 3,000 are Beltre/Pujols/Michael Young, none of which have reached 2,000 yet. But I like the chances of Pujols/Young to make it. I think Beltre is older than he's listed and won't quite make it. And after that, there's another big gap and we get down to Crawford/Cabrera, who are both around 1500 and still not 30 yet. I see both of those guys making it.

Gotcha. Ya, I shouldn't have given that hint away I guess. That one really blew me away.

Wow, he got one. Congrats. I also pegged a bunch of guys with 800+.

The thing that really helps Ichiro is that he likes to pad his hitting stats and doesn't ever take walks really.

No Vlad, Dave? I think that one will be really interesting. He's basically 490 away. Averaged around 170 the last few years. And has 84 so far this year.

So with a bit of a decline each year, we're probably talking 3 more years after this one for him. He's 36 right now. Will be interesting.

Still sad to me how his career has gone overall. He was amazing at one point as a 5-tool guy. One of the very best players I ever saw at one point. But that Montreal turf just ruined his knees. Very similar to how so many have to feel about Andre Dawson, I imagine.

Don't think he makes it three more years. Hell of a player. Think if he'd spent his career in NYC.

OK, name the top 10 active leaders in times on base (again, #1 should be easy).

second question: name the top 10 active leaders in OPS+.

Total times on base, not OBP.

And yes, ARod is #2 in that, only 63 behind Jeter. Pujols is #14 on that list.

OPS+, Pujols is #1, ARod is #5.

Mauer misses both cuts (16th on the OPS+ list).

Vlad misses the cut on times on base.

OPS+ he is #8, AGonz #10, Miggy #2. So you're missing 5 on the OPS+ list.

Thome is correct, #3 on the list, behind only Pujols and Miggy.

Thome is also #4 on the times on base list actively, at just over 4,000.
