Wow, that one is shocking to me. He was legitimately crazy. Like certifiable.

I never would have gotten almost all of those on that list. Well done, Stacey.

OK, I swear I mixed up both La Mar Hoyt with Keith Comstock and Bill Swift with Bill Krueger.

I was going to guess Hampton a while ago, but I see he had too many wins.

What I remember:

Hoyt: ChiSox
Higuera: MIL
Swift: Seattle?
Helling: TX
Lima: HOU/DET asnoted
Colborn: MIL
Merritt: MN/CIN
Figueroa: NYY
Busby: KC
Boswell: MN
Ellis: No idea
Bouton: BoSox
Norris: A's
Bryant: No idea
Garland was probably w/CLE?

Sammy Ellis became a ML itching coach I believe.

Sad

Lots of trivial knowledge in this noggin that should be spent on other things.

With one more win in 1982, Hoyt would have been a 2-time 20-game winner.

The names Norris, Ellis, Bryant and Garland didn't ring any bells with me.

i remember some talk of KC's steve busby. was an ace lefty. a stud, then he tore his rotator cuff -i think- or some serious arm injury. derailed an awesome career right as it started as surgery back then (if he even had it/or pitched thru it) didn't exist and wasn't like it is now

Yep Busby was a stud, before KC got really good, 2 no-no's before he crashed and burned.

garland was one of the 1st big time free agent signing of the 70s.

Cleveland signed him after he won 20 with the 0s.

then he tore his rotator cuff and completely bombed out.
Cleveland got nothing out of him

292 innings for Busby in the year he won 22, lost 14

some starting pitchers struggle to get that in 2years now.

Wayne Garland signed a 10-year contract with the Cleveland Indians. Following a 20-7 season as a 25-year-old with the Baltimore Orioles in 1976, Garland was a member of baseball's first full-fledged free-agent class. He signed for $2.3 million. Garland was released in January 1982 after just five years with Cleveland in which he accumulated a 28-48 record and exceeded 100 IP in only 2 of those 5 seasons.

Worst career batting average for a single-season batting champion?

Michael Cuddyer .278?

Morneau not far behind at .281

I was at his 2nd one when he no-hit the Brewers.

Derrek Lee has to be high on that list. I bet those 2 aren't in the top 10.

Good one. Derrek Lee .281.

Cuddyer still the front-runner in this trivia question.
