Status: online 		Yeah, but the calendar flips in a few days. That's always been Hicks' problem. He had a couple of huge months when he was here. Just never seemed to sustain it for longer than that.

Status: offline 		Joe Mauer had 11 HR's and 49 rbi in 494 at bats in 2016.

Aaron Hicks had a disappointing 2016 (another disappointing year) with 8 HR and 31 rbis in 327 at bats

Remember Hicks gave up hitting left handed briefly because of the disparity in ops against RH vs. LH.

His career ops are now: 641 vs. RH and 708 vs. LH.

This season, he has 879 ops vs. LH and 1.386 ops vs. RH.

John David Micheal Johan Sebastian Ryan Murphy has yet to spend any significant time at the big leagues for the Twins but did post a 413 ops in 80+ at bats in 2016 for the Twins and has a sparkling 636 ops this season including a 233 BA over the past 10 games.

Yeah, he might be good for one month per season but with his defense, he is a fine 4th outfielder. It will be interesting to see how Hicks continues to perform in New York. The future does not look to bright for JDMJSR Murphy.

Hicks has a whopping 28 AB against RHP pitching this year. Like I said, he's done it before for a month
Hicks had a .617 OPS last year. It's not just the HR and RBI thing
For what we get as a combination of offense and defense, Grossman makes a better 4th OF than Hicks, IMO, assuming Hicks reverts to form.
Yeah, John Jacob Jingleheimer Murphy appears to be a bust at this point, but if Hicks reverts to being Hicks, it's not like we paid a high price for him.

At this point you would have to say we clearly lost on the trade, but what did we lose? If Hicks has finally figured it out, it could change from a "meh, we lost on that deal, but so what" to "another classic Ryan clusterf***"
