Sloppy for most of the game. They coasted and stayed close and put it away in the 4th. Looks like Ant spent most of his summer breaking down Michael Jordan video. Those were classic MJ plays at the end.

That was a good win. Portland's D is real good. Overall they suck, but adding Holiday to Camara and Clingan gives them three top-quality defenders.

Wolves beat the Pacers after Ant left in the first half with a hamstring strain. Hopefully it's just a minor tweak and he won't miss much time.

And they play Denver tonight. I hope pulling Ant was an only precaution to have him ready for tonight. We’ll see.

Chrise Hine:

The Timberwolves official update provides a little more optimism for fans and Edwards than the initial ESPN report. The team says he will be re-evaluated in ONE week after having an MRI to reveal the right hamstring strain. Doesn’t mean he’ll be back then but there’s a chance.

As Julius Randle raved about the new lighting at Target Center, he asked if they were going
to do that again.
Yeah, Julius, every game.
"Oh sick. I love that."
Players really, really liked the change.

They laid an egg. And on national TV. Okay Edward’s wasn’t playing. But neither were Luka, LeBron and about 5 other Lakers. They played with no urgency, trying to answer Laker runs by tending around and launching 3s.

Against all odds they made it close at the end. But it would have been a very undeserving win.

They got what they deserved.

Gobert tried to get every rebound in the 3rd quarter. Guess McDaniels and Gobert were challenged to defend more.

Donte played thru what looked like a broken nose in the second half

Players the Wolves received for Towns had 44 points 20 rebounds and 15 assists, including a triple double for one of them.

Just sayin’.

I hope they do as well tomorrow when they return to Madison Square Garden.

MN Timberwolves eyeing Ja Morant
Very rarely do top-tier point guard talents become available in the NBA. But the disfunction right now in Memphis has provided exactly that with superstar Ja Morant, whose unhappiness as a member of the Grizzlies has taken over headlines across the sports world in recent days.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, there are a few teams monitoring the situation in Tennessee. At the top of that short list with confirmed interest in Ja Morant… is the Minnesota Timberwolves.

LOL, $43 million average salary for the next two years - who BTW will be itching for a new contract - plus picks/player for a malcontent wanna-be gangster.

Easy pass.

So you don't think the Lakers would be interested?

No idea but I really hope not. He's not worth the trouble even if he was playing for free. LeBron, Kareem, Gandhi, and Jesus together couldn't babysit that derelict.

Besides, you think they will bump Doncic to another position to accommodate that less talented knucklehead? Doncic plays PG a lot and is averaging 9.2 assists per game (along with averaging 40 points and 11 rebounds). So PG is covered especially with Reaves sometimes sliding over as well as LeBron playing wherever he wants when he returns.

I don't know what Moran's averages are for 36 minutes, but he's also not the 2021-22 version of Ja Morant.

And I read he LIKES being in Memphis. Guess he has issues with coaches, management, and rules but can you imagine what he would become playing in a place or for a team he DIDN'T like? It would be entertaining to say the least!

Who in Minny could influence him? Gobert? LOL. Ant? He's on the 30 year plan to being an adult.

Smart people. He could instead play for a team out in rural USA.
