Hey I'm curious - where has Sean Salisbury ended up?  NFL Network?  Reason I'm asking is I was thinking the other day how nice it has been  to watch ESPN without having to listen to him flap his gums.  Maybe the most annoying person I"ve ever had to watch on television.

Also, what about Tom Jackson (one of good ones around)?

I haven't seen Salisbury show up anywhere so far.  He was worthless as an analyst because he just went with the popular theme.  He added nothing.

Tom Jackson is still at ESPN.

I dunno, maybe I'm just a Mike & Mike groupie, but I thought they were as entertaining as hell last night during the Broncos/Raiders Game.  With Ditka in there, they were better than 90% of the teams out there.

Did anyone hear Ditka when they came back from a commercial break and he thought they were still off last night?  They had the camera on one of the spiked, face-painted Raiders fans and Ditka says something to the effect of  "you should have him do the delivery on your wife".  The other Mike quickly chimed in welcoming everyone back.  It was classic.

I agree Andy, I said the same thing 5 minutes into the game on the Vikings gameday site last night.

As hard as I was on Mike Torico(sp?) and my disdain for Joe Theeseman(sp, phonetic of how it was until he was in college) and as much I as I thought Jaws underacheived last year(I had higher expectations for him). I actually defended Tony Kornholer last year. Last night I would have pitched in with my credit card on an abduction by terrorist. He is out of control, and he must be the one calling the shots, for as much as MT and Jaws tried to keep him in line, he does what he wants. At least Dennis Miller was intelligent. I always said if 3M (Michaels,Madden and Miller) would have ever been together, Miller would have been fine, because he could have played off of Madden.

Time to end the 3 way booth. Torico and Jaws would be fine. Kornholer needs to go back to yelling at Wilbon on Pissing the Interuption. I used to love the guy, but now I really wouldn't mind seeing him harmed, it's like that guy you are kinda friends with so you invite him to watch a game with you and a few other friends and then realize oh my god, never ever do I want to watch a game with him. The problem is you can't escape him. I was actually listening to the radio last night even though it was 7 seconds faster than the tv. Kind of for posting on the site actually.

Tony Kornheiser has reached UNBEARABLE stage.   Listening to him is like hearing screeching nails on a chalkboard - your eyes roll back in your head and your face gets contorted with the agony.

Should we start an e-mail campaign to ESPN?   I have come to dread MNF just because of him.

He really is awful, and does he EVER stop talking?  I'd almost rather listen to Madden do a Favre game.

So glad Salisbury is gone.  He's my least favorite too, by far.

And I really miss Inside the NFL.  Was my favorite NFL show and had such a good team.  Collinsworth is still the best NFL analyst to me, along with Schlereth.  And Costas is still a sports legend.

I still think it'd be great to have Barkley on MNF, like was talked about a couple years ago.  Barkley is entertaining as hell.  I'd tune in for that.

What?  Serious?  I may have to go get Showtime.  When does Dexter start back up, man?  That will just seal the deal.

Who's on it now?  Is it still Costas/Marino/Collinsworth/Carter?

Just checked, it's James Brown, Phil Simms, Cris Collinsworth, Warren Sapp.

Dexter starts Sept 28th.

New York, New York – (August 19, 2008) – Former NFL All-Pro defensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Warren Sapp will join analysts Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth and host James Brown to complete an all-star lineup on INSIDE THE NFL when the series launches this September on SHOWTIME.

Ya, but they were last year too.

ITNFL just isn't the same without Costas/Marino/Carter.  That sucks.

Thanks for the Dexter note, Stumbo.

No more gimmicks!  The NFL is too great of a game to need a sideshow in the booth. Get rid of Kornholer and just keep it simple with two guys.   Jaws and Tirico would be sufficient and it may get back to being about the game and not the fluff peripheral nonsense.

Cooley is a rare bird.  He accidentally posted a picture of his "man part" on his web site before the game Sunday.  Seriously how many players could this ever happen to?

I agree completely.  The NFL has enough fans, they do not need to try to capture the "Desperate Housewives" viewers.  Mixing non-football guys with football guys is a bad combination.

It's really kind of funny, the NFL has a great product and history has shown that it sells itself.  Tony Kornicantstoptalkineiser really makes me NOT want to watch, or at least listen.

I think I mainly agree, guys.  That was more just a plug for Barkley.

Seriously, I think I'd watch curling if he was involved.

Did anyone pick up Salisbury?  Or is he so bad no one wanted nothing to do with him?

He's gone. And he was never my favorite..... but people don't think he came up with those "takes" on his own, do they? People know that ESPN hired him and feed him the "bad/opposite" takes, and had him repeat them, right?

They do this all the time. Shows aren't interesting without contrast. HBO's football show was great, but they brought in Cris Carter just for this reason. Dan, Chris and Costas agreed with each other too much, so they gave him his shot by making him take the contrarian position.

Ya, but regardless, Salisbury is a blowhard and a total asshole.
