Badgers have had a long run with plenty of wins along the way. It wouldn't hurt the Big Ten if they kind of disappeared for a while. And now do the same with Ohio State and Michigan (although I know that's a much longer shot). One thing I don't like about college sports is that once a team gets on a bit of a winning run, they have an easier time recruiting really good players. And once those really good players push them up to the elite stage, they can dominate forever because they can just keep stockpiling the best players in the nation, and teams that have struggled never have a shot at them. Unlike the pros, where the worst team gets the highest draft pick, so there is always a chance to climb out of the gutter, and the best teams get the lowest draft picks and can't just keep stacking the deck.
