ORIGINAL: Jeff Jesser I would still like another solid CB but other than that, I don't worry about the D. Flores is great and we have adequate depth should one of the new guys go down. The O, on the other hand, scares me a bit. I think JJM will be fine but like Bill said you gotta expect some bumps along the way. Should he get hurt again or just plain stick....I think Howell can do enough to get us to the playoffs. KOC has won games with guys a lot worse than SH. That said, we are a major injury (or a couple minor ones) on the OLine away from another blah year for them. The starting 5 looks great but the depth is pretty weak. o'connell is going to start the season running the '23 Michigan offense and work mccarthy into a groove.... i still think that we're bringing in cousins as QB #2.... They are not trading for a $28.5M backup quarterback. no, we wouldn't...but kwesi will work something out.... It makes NO sense on so many levels ... at this point, we would be doing to JJM what ATL did to Cousins, sticking out their hot leg for the starter position then pulling it back and using it to kick KC's expectations to the curb. Is Cousins fine with a backup position? I don't think so. I think he only signs in a situation where he is either the designated starter or the starter position is truly an open competition. Unless KOC and KAM secretly don't believe in JJM. Is Cousins going to sign for one year? I don't think so. He has openly talked about trying to land the best multiple-season deal he can at this point in his career. Would Cousins take less to play for the Vikes than other teams willing to pay more? He and his agent are like the goblins at Gringott's bank, only meaner. I don't think he's looking for another Penix-type situation where he is not the 'franchise guy' either ... even if KOC and KAM are classier and more honest than ATL. Not going to happen.
