The fn Stan’s just cant shit up or let go…

Angry “ Kirk o chains!! “ sucking noises..

Are the Kirk stans in the room with us?

Believing something is going to happen doesn’t mean you want it to happen.

There are always Kirkstans in this room…

And you know it.

Hate to admit it as I was once a Stan but I don't want Kirk back.
Most of the reason I didn't want Darnold back.......your goal is to compete for a Super Bowl. JJM has more moxy than either to get there; questions is can he stay healthy and keep improving to that high level. He did improve as the season went on.

I want JJM to improve to but is it likely?

You can teach him to take something off his throws(not all fastballs) in the off season? But will it stick in the regular season when a pass rush is coming at him or he has to improvise?

I guess it worked for Josh Allen but that is definitely not the norm.

Absolutely.

Working on his numerous bad habits merely sounds great on some random field in the offseason or even in preseason. But so far he mostly reverts to form, some dyed in the wool thing. The aforementioned "moxy"? Easily confused with a mentality that is almost like a high schooler... rah rah and watch me throw this bullet.

Arm, footwork, reading defenses, multiple injuries... no way can he go into next season as the #1 QB option.

He won games Kirk and Sam couldn't....on the road prime time against Detroit and Chicago. His record as qb is better on the road actually.

The key is who is available. At worst you need a Jones (Mac or Danny) as a backup.

The Falcons just reworked KCs contract so it will be much easier to release him in March.

I have a bad feeling that a reunion is imminent.

Well, it looks like Brian Flores is going to be a top HC candidate for at least two teams. Not likely to return.

The likely replacement will come from in-house. Daronte Jones most likely.

The defense will most likely take a step back next year....so getting the offense to step up will be paramount.

Flores has interviewed for HC jobs nearly every year since he has been with the Vikings.
Nothing has changed with his lawsuit against the league yet.

I do think eventually some team goes against the shield and hires him... but I still think odds are 50/50 he is back next year.

RE Flores. If he stays as a DC and doesn't get HC gig he wants, it'll only be in MN. I really believe the LV rumors are going to be play.

Well B Flo has a good thing as a DC here, with regards to personnel decisions. I don't think he leaves for another DC position, but I do think he'll get a HC gig somewhere.

Josh Allen cut back on fastballs, but he has yet to get a ring, has yet to make it to a Super Bowl.

Brett Favre cut back on fastballs, but his 2 Super Bowls (1 win, 1 loss) were early on, every year after that was pretty much a season ending INT in a playoff game.

I hear the Josh Allen comparison, but you have to factor in Josh Allen's scrambling or power running ability. His ability to gain big yards and to be a force in the red zone/goaline make him unique. Yes he can throw with touch, but it also helps when LBs and DBs are coming up to challenge you at the LOS because you can take off for an easy 15 almost every play.

I can see the Favre comparisons, it took about 4 years for the game to really slow down for Favre but the potential was apparent.

I'm ok with bringing back Kirko for a reasonable price. He knows the offense, and he could come in and play well for 6 or 8 games if needed.

If we're hoping our QBOTF is some backup we sign then we're not going about this right way. Sure Danny Dimes could have worked out and in hindsight it may have been the move of the season, but management/KOC decided to roll with JJM. I question the evaluation of KOC if he did indeed think that but at the same time he was also banking on having a healthy top 5 OLine which never transpired.

JJM is the guy and Kirko gives the team an easy fall back option for a couple of games if JJM gets injured once more.

JJ McCarthy has been in the league for two years and has 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. On top of that, he has a woeful completion percentage (57.6%). I think only Shedeur Sanders had a worse completion percentage in the entire league.

If you can't hit a target, you aren't a starting quarterback in the NFL. PERIOD!

McCarthy was like 43rd in passer rating amongst guys that started at least three games. The kid is God-awful. Comparing him to Favre and Josh Allen? That's just crazy-talk. Furthermore, any moron thinking he has more upside than either Darnold or Cousins needs serious help, and I can't stand Cousins.

Trinidad Chambliss is all over the draft map. Hope the regime is analyzing his potential. Not saying he is the answer but we need to DEVELOP a real QB.

Stop giving valuable practice and playing time to the never-ending cavalcade of journeymen, stat-driven, and/or choking QBs.

It has just been announced that Reichard has been named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month for the final month of the 2025 NFL season. He is the first member of the Vikings to receive the award since Cordarrelle Patterson was honored in September of 2013.

For the month of December, Reichard was a perfect 12-for-12 on extra points and 12-for-12 on field goals, including three field goals of 50 yards or longer. In connecting on those field goals, he set the Vikings’ franchise record for most 50+ yard field goals in a season with 11, surpassing the record set by Blair Walsh in 2012. His 11 field goals of 50 yards or more this season also tied him for the NFL lead in that category with Brandon Aubrey and Chase McLaughlin.

Reichard is also the first player in NFL history to have four field goals of at least 59 yards in a single season, and only four kickers in NFL history have more field goals of that distance or more in their careers. His field goal percentage of 94.3% was the highest in the NFL among kickers with at least 30 attempts, and he set a new franchise record with a 62-yard field goal in Week 3 against Cincinnati.

A shame he didn't get a Pro Bowl nod.

It shouldn't have been close.

Brandon Aubrey: 36/42, 85.7%, 11/17 50+, 47/48 PAT. Cowboys: 7-9-1
Will Reichard: 33/35, 94.3%, 11/13 50+, 31/31 PAT. Vikings: 9-8

With almost no mobility, I don't have much faith in Cousins or Darnold to go off script and score a bunch of TDs against a playoff defense.

They didn't necessarily decide to roll with JJM.

The did try to sign both Darnold and Jones. Both of them opted to sign elsewhere.

Not to mention Will out kicking Aubrey was key to the Vikings beating Dallas. Aubrey kicks for the Cowboys. That alone assures he will be overrated.
