I'm adding this because I don't care for Stephen A Smith.

2025 - Vikings should not make a financial commitment to Sam Darnold
2026 - Vikings were stupid to not make a financial commitment to Sam Darnold.

So which is it Steve? Are YOU stupid for suggesting it to begin with?

I don't think highly of Stephen A Smith because I think he just says controversial shit to get attention. And now the Vikings were stupid about Sam Darnold even though they did exactly what he suggested they do a year ago. I am not taking a position one way or the other. I am also NOT suggesting they took advise from Stephen A Smith to begin with because that WOULD be Stupid.

I'll say this about Darnold.

If we signed him, would we have won a SB this year? No.

But, if we fixed OLine and secondary and signed him, could we win a SB with him? Probably

I haven't heard anything about Ryan Kelly, but did you see that crazy interception in the endzone last night? I was on the edge of my seat! I screamed so loud I think I woke up the neighbors.Anyway, back to football. What's everyone's favorite way to kill time during halftime?

In JJ's 9 games the Vikes were 5-4 with road wins at Detroit and Chicago.....if he was healthy all year we get that 1-2 games we couldn't win with Brosmer/Wentz. Couldn't score or move the ball at all with Brosmer at QB, couldn't score TDs with Wentz at QB but they moved the ball and kicked FGs.

What are everybody's thoughts on Kyler Murray? If it is in the $10-15M range, why not.

He has talent. Injuries and a poor situation have kept him at an average to a slightly above average QB.

Contract offset....he will sign for the minimum because he can't make any more......it would subtract what he gets from Arizona already.

Same situation when Russell Wilson signed for the minimum with Pittsburgh.

From what I recall, the Cards had to make studying the playbook written into his contract or he wouldn't do it.
That leads me to believe he gets by on talent alone and isn't willing to put in the work....makes me want to pass on him.

How many years ago was that report?

He has a ton of talent at a minimum contract........I would at least talk to him and be sure first.

The #Jets might not target just one quarterback in free agency. Belief from agents who met with them at the NFL Combine is that they prefer to add two -- if they can. It's similar to what the #Giants did a year ago (Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston).

Kyler Murray was discussed, but he is expected to sign with the Vikings, per sources. No Kirk Cousins, but watch Geno Smith & Carson Wentz. There is interest there. Jacoby Brissett, too, if Cardinals can be convinced to part. Was told that's "doubtful," with Jimmy Garoppolo expected to stay in LA. JG signing with the Cardinals would change that.

Wentz might surprise some, because of the notion Frank Reich/Wentz relationship fell apart in Indianapolis. From my understanding, that was more GM/owner, not coach. The two remain very close.

One source told me that the QB Reich prefers is Wentz. A quote from another: "No one loves Wentz more than Frank."

We'll see what #NYJ can get done.

With Hargrave and Allen on the chopping block, do you think we have any interest in Christian Wilkins(if healthy)? Flores got alot out of him in Miami.

On March 14, 2024, the Las Vegas Raiders signed Wilkins to a four-year deal worth $110 million, with $84.75 million guaranteed. Wilkins produced 17 tackles, 2 sacks and 6 QB hits before suffering a foot injury in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. After injuring his foot during the game, Wilkins was placed on season-ending injured reserve following surgery to repair a Jones fracture.

On July 18, 2025, Wilkins was placed on the reserve/PUP list ahead of training camp. On July 24, Wilkins was released by the Raiders with a terminated vested veteran designation. Additionally, the Raiders moved to void $35.2 million of guaranteed salary on his contract due to how he approached the rehab process.

In total, Wilkins received $49.7 million of his original contract, playing in just five games for the Raiders.

After kicking the can on JJ and Darrisaw (and ?), we are now just $1.2 million over the cap. Cut the deadwood and we could be at $40 million.

The legal tampering period starts on Monday at noon eastern. There will be a flurry of teams-players coming to an agreement.

Please, please don't be a Kwesi and give overinflated contracts to old, injured players!

Sounds like were going to sign Kyler Murray. Was looking at his last years highlights, link https://www.google.com/search?q=Kyler+Murray+Cardinal+highlights&gs_ivs=1#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:e2c4d34b,vid:W44dyIGBYoo,st:0 , he reminds me of a Josh Dobbs whose able to throw accurate passes. His accuracy while scrambling looks very good. Will the QB whisperer be able to adjust his offence to Murray?

Wilkins is a guy I'd kick the tires on but in no way shape or form can he be trusted. I believe he didn't even play last season and I wonder if he even likes football and where he's at mentally.

He reminds me of Albert Haynesworth. Once he got his bag just kind of checked out.

How so? Flores and Wilkins were there from 2019-2021.

In 2023 alone in Miami, Wilkins had 9 sacks which was more than all three years combined under Flores.

2021

89 Tackles
4.5 sacks
10 TFLs
13 QB hits

I'd take that kind of production.

Looks like we'll be shopping for a new punter. "Another big punter deal: Former Vikings punter Ryan Wright is signing a four-year, $14 million deal that includes $8 million guaranteed with the Saints, per source."

14 million with 8 million guaranteed for a punter! Time to teach the grandkids how to punt a football.
