Be nice to get Shannon healthy and back by playoffs.

I don't see it.

The injury is a bummer, but he was terrible before that.

He has absolutely no right hand. Watching even bad teams super overplay his left to start this season tells us that his success against OKC last year was because he was totally unscouted.

So now you're left with a guy who looks the part, but is a bad defender, a streaky shooter and his main weapon, the drive, is easily taken away.

Not good for a guy who will soon turn 26.

Rotation of 8-9 then?

Starting five plus Ayo/Naz, Bones, Clark, and Beringer maybe in that order?

Personally Joan scores so many easy buckets he should be in the rotation and doesn't seem to hurt them when in.....but Finchy is Finchy.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Phillips get a shot. He brings size as a full sized small forward. Ayo, Bones, Clark (and probably Conley) are all guard sized.

I think Bones loses a lot of minutes to Ayo, and I don't see a role for Clark. I loved him last year, but his offense has regressed and its affected his defense. He's s till an absolute bulldog, but he's gotten very undisciplined.

Ideally we'll get to a rotaion of DDV/Ant/Jaden/Randle/Gobert/Naz/Ayo/Beringer/Phillips

Are you talking about Giannis?

No. I predicted Mike Conley was coming back. And he is.

Then it was a good call....he doesn't have much left so it is in a mentor role mostly.....he might end up as an Asst Coach next year I bet.

Matt guess how many Technical Fouls Conley has had in his career....

You and 3/4 of the internet when it looked like he might be waived after being traded again.

Hopefully he won't play at all.

I only read about that possibility on 4 different sites before Matt predicted it.

If it happens, I believe it will be the first ever instance of the "Andrew Bogut rule" being used.

He will end up hopefully playing 1-2 Mins a game more than the coach.....but it is Finch so who knows.

Wolves back vs Cooper-less Mavs tonight. And Conley officially back. Nice article on him in Star Tribune. Whatever his role will be on court he’s good to have back. He deserves it. Finch joked they were lost without him. Nobody to say 1-2-3 Wolves coming out of huddles.

He doesn’t expect to have a large role. Bones and Ayo have earned their minutes and Finch spoke highly of them as a nice little combo too. It worked out for everyone. Conley back where he wants to be and Wolves saved $20 million in luxury tax and got a nice player they needed

And Slo-mo is back too. And in the game. It’s a minor deal. He’s here strictly for vibes and depth. If he gets major minutes we’re in trouble. But it still feels right. I was fine with his limited contributions the first time around. I was fine that he left. I am fine that he’s back.

He’s here for more than that. He finally gives us someone that can play defense when Gobert sits.

He’s, at worst, the 2nd best post passer in the team.

And he gives us some much needed IQ in the floor. He’s a guy that can help his teammates be in the right positions on defense.

And just like that Rudy picks up his 3rd foul three minutes into the 2nd quarter.

Yeah Joan hasn't been consistent enough to trust for Finch and Naz just isn't enough in the post.

I’ll take blame for that one. I had Rudy over 10.5 rebounds against the small Grizzlies. So of course he had 5.

Also had Naz over 13.5 points. He had 3.

Not a stellar night for me.

Agree with you on all the things he can do. My thing is, does it compensate for the things he can’t do? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the situation. He does give Finch another piece to use. Like I said, I’m glad he’s back. The bench is looking a lot better than it did not long ago.

Yes.

There isn't that much he can't do. He's not a volume shooter that will give you a ton of points, but he's a respectible offensive player, a very good defender and passer.

He's a "connector" on a team that badly needed one.

The players on this team all hate each other. That's my to-the-point take.
