We can't quite stick a fork in them yet.

We clinched out 8th straight playoff berth last night.

Maya appears to be heating up at the right time - which is huge with Whalen and Brunson out the past 2 games.

Unfortunately Danielle Robinson looked like she suffered a pretty bad ankle sprain.

Goes without saying how cool it would be to muster up one more just for old timeys sake ... [:D]

How long are Lindsey and Brunson out?

Announcing her retirement today, actually retiring after the season ends.

David Levine -> RE: Minnesota Lynx (8/13/2018 9:43:41 AM)

Whalen will retire as the WNBA’s all-time wins leader, racking up 322 career victories, including 54 in the postseason, which ranks second all-time behind teammate Rebekkah Brunson (57). Whalen ranks third in WNBA history in assists, trailing only Sue Bird and Ticha Penicheiro. Her impressive résumé includes six All-Star appearances, 13 playoff appearances, eight WNBA Finals appearances, four WNBA championships and Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 2012 and 2016.

As a couple of posters have already said; Lindsey is without question on the Minnesota Sports Mount Rushmore.

And that list doesn't even include her totally revitalizing the Gopher program as a player.

It seemed really strange her retiring right before the playoffs. I would have laid 10 to 1 odds on her retiring after this season. Now the team can rally around her. Win one more for Lindsay.

Reeve says she talked to her about making an announcement. I think, in part, that is part of Reeve's strategy to get the Lynx going.

Sorry if its been posted, but its an awesome story

Phil Riewer -> RE: Minnesota Lynx (8/14/2018 10:26:50 AM)

Whalen didn't want a season long retirement party. She really didn't even want a 2 home game retirement party. Classy.
