I'm sure that ONE TIME GB got screwed by the replacement refs vs Seattle, something probably changed after that, too.

Yes, what changed was they went from the unbiased replacement officials, back to the regular officials which tend to have a respect to the Packer tradition, and bias in favor of the Pack.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (10/17/2019 4:32:55 PM)

Someone one here is confusing what would be some grand scheme geared towards all Packers' success, and make sure the Vikes fail at all costs, to a simple portion of the refs having a bias in favor of the Packers and Patriots.

Maybe 2 refs on each of 3 or 4 officiating crews favor the Packers and Patriots.

They might cover it up by trying to make the number of penalties equal on both sides, but when it comes down to momentum changers, or crucial plays in the 4th quarter, they would have a tendency to almost always rule in favor of the Packers and Patriots in regards to calls and non calls.

marty -> RE: Other NFL News (10/17/2019 4:35:26 PM)

I used to dislike it, but I am now glad the Vikes don't have a ref bias in their favor.

IF the Vikes win a SB, I want them to do it not as media darlings, but a team that has to overcome the officials in their playoff run, and has anti-Viking commentators hating it all the way. [&:]

It will make it all the more enjoyable.

Carson Wentz was selected second in the 2016 draft. Dak Prescott went two days and 133 picks later. I believe most #NFL GMs would choose Wentz over Prescott - but I’m starting to think they would all be wrong. Prescott has outperformed Wentz by every measure so far.

He's had a better line and better run game to take the pressure off of him thusfar.

Ed Werder is a Dallas beat guy...consider the source.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Other NFL News (10/22/2019 2:37:37 PM)

And another trade:

Denver is dealing WR Emmanuel Sanders and a 2020 5th-round pick to San Francisco in exchange for 2020 3rd- and 4th-round picks, per league sources.

First Mohamed Sanu, now Sanders....

Werder is legit.

He's Dallas based, but hasn't been a beat writer for the Cowboys for 20 years. Pretty solid National media guy for the NFL.

Lions moving on from Diggs. Got a 5th for him while including a 7th.

Makes our matchup with Cowboys more difficult.

WOW

Can't blame Williams for being angry. He could have died had he not seen a doctor on his own accord.

Tom Brady and two of his former back-ups (Brissett and Garrapolo) … are 21-2 this season.

Police report on former Dolphins RB Mark Walton alleges he pushed a woman against a wall and punched her several times in the face and head this morning. The report states he learned two days ago the woman was pregnant with his child.

(Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

There isn't anything I could say to describe how despicable this is.

Geez. Didn't these guys learn anything about respect from their parents when they were children? If I even talked about raising my hand to my wife, my father and brothers would beat me to a pulp.

This just in: the Ravens are good!

It's scary how good they are and the Rams have to be humiliated. I guess it's good for the Vikings. Their odds for making the playoffs just got better.

Indeed, the Rams look toast. They still have to play @SF and @Dal, hard to see them getting to 10 wins. The Panthers lost as well, the only team that can realistically catch us are the Bears at this point since we have the tiebreaker over both the Eagles and Cowboys.

As for the Ravens, it's great seeing Lamar succeed. I felt he could have been worth a flier in the late 1st, but we had just inked Kirk to a 3 year deal. I thought the Steelers should have taken him and it looks like they will be ruing that for many years. Felt he was so unique and a much better passer than he was given credit for, but I would have never thought he'd be this dominant.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Other NFL News (11/26/2019 6:24:00 AM)

Jackson is incredible. Not just his legs but his arm as well.

But with all the running he does he will get hurt sooner or later. Probably get his knees targeted by a divisional foe cuz their going to get sick of chasing him around.

kgdabom -> RE: Other NFL News (12/22/2019 12:30:02 PM)

Back when we drafted Waynes I really really wanted Davante Parker. It looked like I was very wrong for the first few years, but Parker is finally healthy and he is rocking despite a terrible Miami team.

Blasingame with meaningful playing time for the Colts. Sure wish we had kept him.

Possibly the most incredible comeback I've ever seen. The 1-13 Bengals who could clinch the #1 pick in next years draft came from 23 points behind in the 4th quarter to send the game to OT on a final play of regulation TD pass and 2 pointer. However, the Dolphins are about to win this game with a FG. It's good. The comeback was in vain.

David Levine -> RE: Other NFL News (1/7/2020 12:20:51 PM)

I think the XFL is a bad idea, but I kind of like their Extra Point rule:

In the XFL, there will be no kicking extra points, instead they’ll follow the rules used in flag football where you can choose to go for 1, 2, or 3 points after with an offensive play from the 2, 5, or 10 yard line.

Very interesting. I would go for the three every time except for situationally like you're down one point and it's the last play of the game. Then I would go for 2.
