I guess thats a wishy washy projection too early in the year.

Not wishy washy IMO. Pretty good.

I might be a bit biased with that projection.

How's this; The Packers are more likely to finish last in the division than participate in the Super Bowl.

For sure. I hope they get squashed early and just lay under a bench all baby voldemort-like until the season is over.

Pete Prisco Power Rankings

2. Packers

20. Vikings

[:-][:-][:-]

That's a good thing.

Prisco is so bad at football evaluation it's laughable.

The Packers are likely finishing last in their own division. They are not making a Super Bowl run.[&:]

I think the Bears will be be about the same ... I like their hc but teams preparing for them differently and earlier in the season, and injuries (like all of us) could affect their record more than a couple games. Plus 2 of their division rivals will be better than last year, maybe 3.

Not sure how good the Packers will be ... they’ve added pieces in FA and I like (hate) their draft picks the last 2 years. I think they will be a better than last year and trending upward.

I am always amazed at how the Lions, who seem to add talent in the offseason that I covet, end up faltering. Stafford could have a brutal season or play inspired, given his wife’s situation.

I think we will play inconsistently on offense for the first few game but overall, we will be improved. Greatly improved.

Bears DC has moved on.

What the hell!!!

It is almost like Prisco just plain forgot that we have Kyle Sloter on our roster!

Over the Cap now has the Vikings receiving three Compensatory Selections in the 2020 NFL Draft: A third-round selection for the loss of Sheldon Richardson, a sixth-round pick for the loss of Latavius Murray, and a seventh-round pick for the loss of Trevor Siemian....daily norseman

Maybe Spielman won't have to resort to trade back shenanigans to get his 10 picks.

I wouldn't call it shenanigans unless every trade of draft picks is a shenanigan. Every trade has one team trading up and another trading back.

Marty you just keep the faith. I would hate for something like reality to ever get in the way. Even the nicknames have Sloter as a backup.
Sgt Sloter has to take orders from Captain Kirk.

Live long and Prosper Minnesota Vikings.

Okay, this has taken a very wrong turn.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/10/2019 2:32:41 PM)

I just read a report saying the Vikings were unsuccessful re-working Kyle Rudolph's contract and so they are actively trying to trade him with several teams expressing interest.

So are we better off keeping him around for 1 more year, losing him in free agency, and picking up a supplementary pick for him, than trading him now? At his salary, how much is another team willing to give up draft pick value wise?

One day after the Patriots sign Watson.

I'd prefer to keep him this year.

While Smith and Conklin are intruiging they are unproven.

Need to find another way to shave a ml off the cap.

Agreed, but unless these reports are full of sheet they are attempting to trade him.

If not for the Salary cap situation I don't think it would even remotely be a consideration. But they need to trim the salary cap down a bit and if they can add a pick or two for next year, great.

Or maybe the salary cap situation was created by design to bring this scenario about. You think the bean counters in the organization didn’t know this would come to be as they made their signings?
