he will get some this week...

I'm just not writing him off as so many here seem to have.

just weird to me to not be all in on all our guys...

It's only natural to be "less" in on some players. Not all of "our guys" are created equal, so to speak. Trust me I want big plays and no TOs from him.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/22/2019 5:44:46 PM)

I found this to be interesting: how the Vikings colors were chosen. Maybe most of you knew this. I did not.

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/22/2019 6:21:21 PM)

I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on RBs LBs or Safeties.

In the NFL I would prefer to invest in Lineman (offense and defense) cornerbacks, QB, and WR.

There is no question he is capable of big plays. Hope he gets one or two Monday.

Sooooo... Vikes win out, Seattle loses to San Fran next week, Vikes get 5th seed beat Philthy in Philthy in wild card round, Seattle beats NO in WC round, Packers get 2nd seed, Vikes beat Pukers in division round at Lameblow, Seattle gets revenge on SF in SF in division round, first time ever 2 WC teams meet in Conference championship game, Vikes host and beat Seattle, go on to 1st SB victory!

kgdabom -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/22/2019 6:43:22 PM)

Iggles beat the CowPukes. We just might be playing at Philthy in the playoffs.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/22/2019 7:28:51 PM)

Did the Seahawks need to win today? Won't they win the division next week with a win? Maybe they lose a bye week.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/22/2019 7:29:16 PM)

We whipped the Eagles at home. I have a hunch they will be extra motivated if we play there in the playoffs. They have some players with championship credentials.

Any playoff team can beat us, but our best odds of winning are easily against the Iggles.

If they lose next week they end up 11-5

I think if the Vikings win both games they'll be the 5th seed. Either Seattle will be 11-5 or SF 12-4 (as we'd be) and the Vikings have a better record against common opponents (SF lost to ATL). Wouldn't surprise me if I'm wrong, though.

I heard we would lose to SF on some SOS shit.

lol Cardinals pulling out all the stops

If the Seahawks lose two weeks in a row, fifth seed is in play if the Vikings win out. 3rd seed is in play if, in addition, the Packers lose out. And 2nd seed is in play, if in addition to all of that, Saints lose to Panthers

lyle chabot -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/23/2019 7:30:51 AM)

It is nice to be able to talk about which seed the Vikings could get in the playoffs instead of early draft talk

3rd seed is in play if we win out and the Packers lose out, regardless of what happens in those other games.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/23/2019 2:38:49 PM)

Fifth seed seems most likely to me, now. Of course that means we have to win tonight.. I do believe we will.

NFL has been whacked but I don't see Detroit beating GB unless they take a chance on Stafford Week 17.

i, like most, presumed that zimmer meant hughes and kearse when he referred to 'them'....

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
When asked Oct. 30 about Jayron Kearse's arrest, #Vikings coach Mike Zimmer used the word "them.'' He did not mention at the time Davion Davis arrest same weekend. Zimmer's quote included: "For them to do that is really idiotic.’’

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
Pioneer Press learned today that on same weekend Jayron Kearse was arrested in October on suspicion of DWI, teammate Davion Davis was arrested on suspicion of DWI. Has pleaded not guilty to 3 misdemeanors Davis was then on active roster, now practice squad.

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
The #Vikings have released a statement to the Pioneer Press on WR Davion Davis' arrest: "We were made aware of Davion's arrest at the time of the incident and immediately notified the league office. We are following the NFL's disciplinary process.''

Live from U.S. Bank Stadium, talking about how these teams have changed since the #Packers' win in Week 2 and the #Vikings' plan at RB, where one teammate told me Mike Boone is about one thing: "Running the ball as hard as f∗∗∗. All the time."

lynch heading to seattle....

Bob Condotta@bcondotta
Carroll confirms Lnych will be flying in this morning and says there will be a really good chance he will be playing for Seahawks. "He's really excited about the chance to help us.''

Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero
If the #Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch strike a deal, he'll return to a different Seattle team -- but one that again could ask him to shoulder a heavy load in a playoff push.

Everything I've found says record against common opponents comes after head-to-head (moot) and conference record (both 9-3 in this scenario), assuming at least four common games (there are actually five). We would be 1-1 v Packers, 0-1 v Seattle, 1-0 v Washington and ATL. SF would be 0-2 v Seattle, 1-0 v Packers, 1-0 v Washington, and 0-1 vs ATL. We would prevail.

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/23/2019 10:02:52 PM)

Vikings haven’t beaten a good team since Saints in playoffs.

Can’t fire Cousins.

Need to can Zimmer and give an offensive coach a chance.

Considering the talent on roster it’s ridiculous that haven’t beaten even one good team in two years.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/23/2019 10:22:45 PM)

Cousins and defense are who we thought they were

Please fire this garbage GM too

I'll give the Defense a little bit of a pass. They had to be out on the field 70% of the time.

With just a competent offense, the TOs should have staked us to a 10-14 point halftime lead.
