ORIGINAL: Ush I like both moves. Treadwell can be up to speed from the beginning but I’m hoping he’s an emergency guy in the case Bisi doesn’t work out or there is an injury. As for Sherels, this is a very solid move IMO. I don’t trust Bisi or Abdullah to return punts. Having a solid guy back there protects against turnovers and he can obviously take it to the house if he has the space. Why don't you trust Bisi? I don't remember him having issues on punt return during preseason. Maybe he had issues in practice, but we wouldn't know about that. I like both guys, but I want WRs who can get open and catch, and I like CBs who can cover. I don't like spending a roster spot on a punt returner or guys who are great on special teams but can't really man their position. Because he's never really done it. 2 PRs in the preseason for 11 yards. 26 PRs total in college for 170 yards and a 6.5 average. (12 for 48 yards as a SR) Yes, the inexperience is what worries me. I think, for us to be successful the way we are structured, we need to be strong in all 3 phases of the game. Just like not having a rookie kicker [&o], I don’t think we should have a rookie at PR. I also think Sherels is better than a couple of the guys we have as a fill in DB (Meadors, Epps). He knows the defense and can hold his own if we need him in a pinch. Fair enough. Good point about being good, not just adequate, at PR. Sherels is also great in ST coverage, so there is also upside there.
