Great to see Anthony Harris's quick reaction on the fake field goal. Well coached and well executed play. The Eric Kendricks tackle of Alshon Jeffrey on the quick 3rd and 2 pass stood out as well.

I forget which thread I read this on.

Someone made a great point about the average time a QB has to throw, and how misleading that stat is. If a playaction bootleg takes 5 seconds and Elf wiffs giving Cousin only 1 second the average time is 3 seconds but doesn't man squat. Playaction also has a long time where the QB's back is to the defense. It's not like Cousins is in shotgun and has 3 seconds to throw. Stupid misuse of stats IMO. I'm not sugar coating anything for Cousins. He played awful against the bears and average against the Packers with one truly awful throw/decision.

My $0.02:

Mondays are always better after a Vikes win!

They are even better when it is over a team that I loathe, like the Beagles.

Nice team win. All phases.

Stopping them on the fake FG and the 4th down play at midfield was huge.

Loved that we had a unique gameplan to attack them. We need more of that.

OL played well. Huge whiff by Elf on one play. Cadbury seemed better out in space this week. Hill was even decent.

Mattison ran tough. But dude......only job late in the game is ball protection!!

Sendejo is a douche. So is Jeffrey.

We had a couple of INT opportunities just missed.

One of the better officiated games I have seen in a while. Few flags either way.

Hated the super-soft zone we were playing late - and let them convert a 3rd/4th and like 18.

Cousins played very well.

Hell, even Treadwell got in on the action!

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/14/2019 10:06:29 AM)

Another $0.01:

Diggs had a great game - the TD at the back of the EZ was great!

But dude had two huge errors. A drop on 3rd down and a deflection off his face for the Pendejo INT.

Cowpuke lost to the NYJ. [&:]

Yup.

Absolutely tried to take Thielen out. Ended up coming damn close to seriously injuring #54 on his own team.

I said it a couple weeks ago, there is no place in the game for this guy. There is a HUGE difference between aggressive and reckless.

At some point you'd think the league would look into this garbage. Wanting to protect "investments" and all. I guess we have to wait until he maliciously injures one of the league's darling QBs.

Not sure where else it was posted, but I used similar numbers this morning. And said the 5 second play isn't all that because the QB probably bought some time or was on a bootleg (as you said), but by then the WRs are probably off their routes and have started to ad lib.

Or a player from a darling team, say Amari Cooper. Headlines would be "Cowboys not likely to make playoffs due to violent hit".

"We need more severe penalties, blah, blah"

My gosh. I had to do a double take on where the 9'ers/Rams game was being played. It's a see of red in LA.

Sorry to quote myself but now it's halftime in the SD@Pittsburg game. Sorry, I mean Pitt@SD. My lord. It's 98% Pitt fans. 2 teams in LA. Good idea…...

Worst move NFL ever made was moving SD to LA. Idiot owner to agree to it. Better to play in a shitty stadium in front of loyal fans then be second fiddle in a market that isn't hard core in the first place.

SD losing to a 3rd stringer. Drop to 2-4 after this one. I thought they were going to be tough this year.

NFL could build a new stadium for every team once every 32 years (the bulllshit "lifespan" of stadium profitability) and never look back. The extortion of the public in most markets is heinous and is one of the things that makes it hard to like the NFL at times.

And if we had lost, both of those would have been blamed on Cousins.

bohumm -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/14/2019 11:00:06 AM)

Loved the game. I agree that the line looked better, Cousins looked more decisive (more to the point than seconds taken to throw, IMO, but alas, no shiny metric for that), defense came up big (they're better with a forward lean, like this week and last), play calling and design were better, etc. Not forgetting that the Philly D was depleted nor that Desean Jackson was out, but decisively won by answering challenges.

I don't think so. Everyone in the game day thread seemed pretty peeved at Diggs for the INT in particular.

jbusse -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/14/2019 11:08:37 AM)

Factoid: Cousins threw the longest in-the-air completed pass of the week, at 60.5 yards.

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/14/2019 11:12:05 AM)

Love Cousins, hate Cousins or falling somewhere in the middle everyone should agree that the dude was throwing lasers yesterday! It was a thing of beauty that I hope we get to see more regularly.

Danielle Hunter claims sack record for himself
He now has more than any player in NFL history before age 25

By Christopher Gates

Last Sunday afternoon, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter tied the record for most sacks by an NFL player before the age of 25. This Sunday, in the Vikings’ 38-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium, he took it all for himself.

Hunter collected a sack of Carson Wentz in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s victory, giving him 46 for his career. That gives him more quarterback sacks before the age of 25 than any player in NFL history, breaking the tie he had been in with current Dallas Cowboys’ defensive end Robert Quinn.

What might be the most amazing part of the record is that Hunter, a third-round pick of the Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft, got off to such a fast start with limited playing time. In his first two seasons, he collected a total of 18.5 sacks despite starting just one of the thirty games he played in during those two seasons. He collected 12.5 sacks in 2016, his second year in the NFL, despite not starting any games at all that year.

Hunter took over as the full-time starter at defensive end before the 2017 season, and in those three seasons has racked up 27.5 sacks, including six so far this season.

You know he's doing a great job when you don't hear his name called during the broadcast. He's been amazing!

Good to see some OL picks working out. Hopefully Bradbury continues to get better each week. I expect that he will.

With us going against Stafford and the Skins I set the over/under to 3.

I do get a little nervous when people talk about him moving to LT though.
