Yannick will have to sign his tender. I wonder if the rework of the tender (Yannick taking a paycut) will include something to the effect of the Vikings not being able to tag him again next year.

This will also allow Ifeadi to rush more from the inside - which could make the whole line better. Jayln Holmes is probably gone.

What we do next for the cap is probably the most interesting part. Do we do restructures and kick the can down the road into a year where the cap might go down? And risk losing Cook, Harris, Oneil, etc? Or do we offset with a Reiff trade/cut and start the season at LT with Hill and move Ezra back to LT and hope he's ready at some point?

Spielman and Zimmer must think we are closer than a lot of us fans think we are.

If I understand things correctly he is already signed and not to the tender. More like our remaining 12.9 million cap space. It was part of the deal to facilitate the trade.

Whatever. The Tender for a RFA is a specific amount set forth in the CBA. He will be signing a contract with the Vikings, but it isn't the RFA tender. Now I'm sure you will say my attempt to help you with what's actually going on is me being the Vortex and having to be right all the time.

This isn't a RFA tender. Wilson signed a RFA and got 3M or so and it had a a draft pick assigned (2nd rounder for example).

This was a franchise tag. Like the one Harris signed. And it's being restructured from 17M to 13M and still has to be signed.

The #Vikings and new pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue agreed to a 1-year contract worth a few million less than the tag, source said, which is what it took to get the deal done. Rather than $17M+ in Jax, Ngakoue takes less with a place he wants to make his home.

It being a young man's game and all, I feel like Rick has managed the off season pretty well. Time will tell of course.

Defense

Key losses:

Linval Joseph, age 31.8, PFF 71.2, cap hit $5.5 million
Everson Griffen, age 32.6, PFF 77.6, cap hit $6 million
Xavier Rhodes, age 30.1, PFF 46.4, cap hit $3.25 million
Trae Waynes, age 28.0, PFF 65.1, cap hit $10 million
Mackensie Alexander, age 26.7, PFF 65.7, cap hit $3.95 million

New additions:

Yannick Ngakoue, age 25.4, PFF 72.0, cap hit ~$13 million
Cameron Dantzler, age 21.9, cap hit $0.83 million
Jeff Gladney, age 23.7, cap hit $2 million

More playing time:

Mike Hughes, age 23.5, PFF 58.7, cap hit $1.79 million
Holton Hill, age 23.4, PFF 63.7, cap hit $0.49 million

Dividing us all? I'd be more than happy to break bread and buy you a beer if you could admit that there is a racial disparity in this country that has existed for 200+ years. It would seem a small price to pay for a harmonious ending.

Your logic is the same of those that say unions are a bad thing. They wouldn't exist if employers would just stop taking advantage of employees.

At some point the little guy stands up and fights. Nothing is more American than that. I will join them in taking a knee, because it is the most American thing to do. If you were a true patriot for mankind, you'd do the same.

Can a player decline a franchise tag? As Bell displayed last year, a player can simply refuse to sign the franchise or transition tag tender. However, that player is not able to play in the NFL unless the tender is signed..

Actually, each individual's interpretation and emotions are the deciding factors on how much of a wedge issue it is. Even after media and political hoopla (like trump calling them sons of bitches), if a person decides to be angry that is on the individual.

The past few years I have been less of a fan mainly due to the incessant stoppages in the action due to replays and a host of new subjective rules. And money grabs like playing on Thurs when any player of worth will say their body hasn't healed. But Kap's decision had no bearing on my decision to follow the NFL.

Here's a bit I found on RotoWorld.

YANNICK NGAKOUE
DL, MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Vikings acquired DE Yannick Ngakoue from the Jaguars for a second-round pick and a conditional 2022 fifth-round pick.
The conditional pick can become a fourth-rounder if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl. Ngakoue has yet to sign his $17.8 million franchise tender, but he's expected to restructure his deal to help create cap space. The Vikings are getting a star in Ngakoue, who has at least eight sacks in every season. He'll bookend Danielle Hunter to form one of the better pass rushing tandems in the league.

Jaguars agreed to trade franchise DE Yannick Ngakoue to Minnesota for a second- and conditional fifth-round pick that could go as high a third-round pick, league sources tell ESPN. Ngakoue still has to sign his tender, but trade is in place and Ngakoue is expected to be a Viking.

Per usual - your understanding could use some work.

In this case I am quite confident my understanding is more complete than yours. Don't call me out for my lack of understanding when you're the one who isn't getting what's going on.
It is correct that he hasn't signed the tender, but there is no requirement of him signing the Tender which is over 17 million. He has agreed to sign for less than the tender. If he hadn't agreed to sign for less than the tender no deal would have been made.

LOGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bohumm you are nothing but a jerk. If you truly believe there is something wrong with me you shouldn't be going out of your way to be a jerk to me every chance you get. My logic is absolutely flawless. Your being a jerk is 100%.

the Vikings will now finalize a restructured one-year tender to complete the trade, sources tell Pelissero.

Whatever. The Tender for a RFA is a specific amount set forth in the CBA. He will be signing a contract with the Vikings, but it isn't the RFA tender.

This isn't a RFA tender. Wilson signed a RFA and got 3M or so and it had a a draft pick assigned (2nd rounder for example).

This was a franchise tag. Like the one Harris signed. And it's being restructured from 17M to 13M and still has to be signed.

OMG, KGBomb gets absolutely BEAT DOWN.

Hearkens images of Ali destroying an opponent and telling the ref to stop the fight.
