Watching Stefanski's Browns dominate Tennessee on the road brings me back to the Childress/Tomlin situation. Vikings let a young coach go to another team while hanging on to an old, Set-In-His-Ways coach.

Stefanski runs a play at the goal line using an eligible O-Lineman for a TD. Zimmer would never run anything like that.

I guess since we've got the best red zone offense in the league, "Zimmer", calling the plays in the coach's box up in the stands, doesn't feel the need to resort to trickery.

The problem for the Vikings might be their remaining schedule. They play at the Buccaneers, then vs. Bears, at Saints and at Lions. They might have to upset the Bucs or Saints to get in.

Then again, maybe 8-8 will be good enough. The Cardinals, 49ers, Bears or anyone else aren’t guaranteed to finish the season on a winning streak. When you expand the playoff field, you let in more mediocre teams. We will probably see that in the NFC this season.

The Vikings won’t be making apologies. At 1-5 they looked like a team that might start trading all their veterans to start a rebuild. Even being mentioned in the playoff picture is remarkable. It will be even crazier if they make it in.

All we had to do was correctly evaluate our guards and we would have beat Seattle and would be 7-5 right now. Throw in a victory aganst the Cowboys (which most other teams are having no trouble with) and we'd be 8-4 and looking to take the NFC North. But ignoring our loss to the Cowboys I look back to the Seattle game. Something as simple as knowing your talent at guard cost us a game. Like I've said before, all these small mistakes add up to real consequences over the course of a season.

I don't expect anything this Sunday, if I had to predict a score I'd say 31-17 Bucs but they've proved me wrong plenty of times this season.
