I'm sure this is a surprise to most of us.

The #Vikings have waived CB Holton Hill, per Goessling.

I think he took the new NFL "no ganja" testing to heart.

Watching Stefanski's Browns dominate Tennessee on the road brings me back to the Childress/Tomlin situation. Vikings let a young coach go to another team while hanging on to an old, Set-In-His-Ways coach.

Stefanski runs a play at the goal line using an eligible O-Lineman for a TD. Zimmer would never run anything like that.

I guess since we've got the best red zone offense in the league, "Zimmer", calling the plays in the coach's box up in the stands, doesn't feel the need to resort to trickery.

True, but that was not the point of the original post. How convenient of you to cut out the rest so you could start your snarky shit again.

It seemed appropriate to point out your stupid shit again. But in more comedic than snarky way.

No one pisses off posters in here more than you, Mr. Dumbass. You don't even come on these forums to discuss Vikings; you come on here to see what drive by you can do. You think you're a genius and funny, but you're not. It's just so sad you always have to try and bring people down to prop up yourself. Bet you're proud of yourself.

Any way the Vikings get in at 8-8 ? (I think that is their most likely record)

Arizona and 49ers are skidding.

From Yahoo yesterday

The problem for the Vikings might be their remaining schedule. They play at the Buccaneers, then vs. Bears, at Saints and at Lions. They might have to upset the Bucs or Saints to get in.

Then again, maybe 8-8 will be good enough. The Cardinals, 49ers, Bears or anyone else aren’t guaranteed to finish the season on a winning streak. When you expand the playoff field, you let in more mediocre teams. We will probably see that in the NFC this season.

The Vikings won’t be making apologies. At 1-5 they looked like a team that might start trading all their veterans to start a rebuild. Even being mentioned in the playoff picture is remarkable. It will be even crazier if they make it in.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/9/2020 9:47:57 AM)

Yeap. I remember the excitement of the new season finally starting after all the crap we've all been through.

"damn, if we can get to 8-8 and make the playoffs, wouldn't that make 2020 all the better?"

Life of a Viking fan. Start out so shitty you may have a chance at a great draft pick only to cut off your nose so you end up around #20. [>:]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/9/2020 9:49:31 AM)

Meanwhile. Cleveland is finally turning it around with a guy that I, personally, laughed at when Zimmer brought in Kubiak to essentially babysit. Sounds about right. [&:]

All we had to do was correctly evaluate our guards and we would have beat Seattle and would be 7-5 right now. Throw in a victory aganst the Cowboys (which most other teams are having no trouble with) and we'd be 8-4 and looking to take the NFC North. But ignoring our loss to the Cowboys I look back to the Seattle game. Something as simple as knowing your talent at guard cost us a game. Like I've said before, all these small mistakes add up to real consequences over the course of a season.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/9/2020 9:57:08 AM)

The big key for the next four games for me.....mix as many young guys you can on defense.....it is time. Dye, Hand, Wonnum, etc. We will prob lose Harris and need to cut Barr but the defense has started to improve and if Hunter and Pierce are back healthy next year we will be beastly.

I like what I see out of Gladney, Dantzler, Wonnum, and Boyd.

Seattle and Tenn also.....Seattle was the one game where we just needed the one yard to seal it.

beo -> RE: General Vikes Talk (12/9/2020 11:47:39 AM)

I just heard a interview with JJeff on the Jim Rome show.

Kid does not strike me as a diva at all.
Of course, it's his rookie year.

However, he talked about hard work and being smart and doing things to benefit the team.
It could simply be he has been "coached" to say all the right things but he sounded honest and humble.

I'd say a majority of the time... when you trade a star and then turn right around and try to replace them with a high draft pick it ends in disaster.

We may look back at getting JJeff as a key piece to something big... kid is amazing.

What is the point of us getting in?

This team is mediocre right now.

Being the last team to make it we have to go on the road every week and beat far better teams.

I just don't see us going to the playoffs as beneficial in the long run.

I may change my opinion if we play well against Tampa....but I am not holding my breath.

With a young team, getting them playoff exposure will be beneficial. Not to mention turning around a 1-5 season into a playoff berth.

I don't expect anything this Sunday, if I had to predict a score I'd say 31-17 Bucs but they've proved me wrong plenty of times this season.

Then you establish a culture. You will never make a run at a Superbowl without one.

Not exactly crushing it. It could go either way. Depends on what Vikings team shows up. If we come out passive again we're doomed. Zone with little to no rush can get you by Glennon. Try that with Brady and see what happens [:-]

They already won too many games to get a highly coveted QB, trader Rick will have to work magic to get one.

With a future franchise QB picked high in the draft spoiled, might as well make the playoffs and give me one last weekend to watch.
