Excellent link. I'm in favor of Lynch starting for the Vikings this year sooner or later. Here's an excerpt from the link

The 3-tech position for the Vikings was a barren wasteland in 2019. Starter Shamar Stephen was one of the most ineffective defensive linemen in the entire NFL and managed all of six pressures on 350 pass-rushing snaps. Conversely, Lynch led all of college football with 70 pressures on 501 pass-rushing snaps for Baylor last season. The Vikings didn’t add anyone else to address the position this offseason, meaning the path looks wide open for Lynch to take the job.
Lynch was ridiculously productive in college in his final year in Waco. He finished the season with 41 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks en route to winning a ton of awards (Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year, and First-Team All-American honors). He also had three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five passes defended, and even blocked two kicks.

Sounds like the next Chris Hovan

Do you have to be negative all the time? Is it possible for you to be positive some of the time.

Chris Hovan played for 10 years in the NFL.

My apologies. I thought Hovan was pretty decent, but since it came from you I assumed I must have been wrong and he sucked. I'm hopeful Lynch will be easily better than Hovan.

By PFF’s charting he lined up outside the tackle on ~65% of his snaps, over the tackle (5-tech) ~20%, and inside (A gap or B gap) ~20%. He was far more effective as a pass rusher off the edge than as a DT.

IMO he's another Jayln Holmes until he proves otherwise. I think we see a rotation of Watts, Maatafa and Shamar.

Have you watched him play? He lined up outside because that's where the team needed him most. His skillset indicates he will be more effective at the 3T and DT IIRC is the official position he was drafted as. he's going to be good. Watch him play.

He's three hundred lbs. He's a tweener - more effective with space but too big and not quick enough for 4-3 end. I don't know if his game translates to the pros. I hope it does. I hope every player we draft turns into the next hall of famer. Unfortunately many don't even make the team.

How many pressures did he have in 2018 when he mostly played inside? How many of his 70 plus pressures came from inside?

I watched a couple games of his against top competition and he was basically unstoppable. He is considered the steal of the 4th round by many analysts. I believe in him. He's going to be a good one and hopefully a great one.

Not sure Lynch is even a full blown 300 lbs, I've seen 285-295. He could probably get to 300+ with NFL training. That said 300 lbs is just fine 3 technique wise. Look at the 2020 probowlers, 300 lbs is right around the sweet spot.

I learned this morning that a new medicine came out while I was on the ventilator by Roche. My son was all over it and encouraged the doctor who was already considering it. It could have been a difference maker. It specifically helps hold back the inflammation.

I believe it will have other uses, as well. Perhaps when they first were developing it Covid was not a problem.

From Daniel House:

I can't wait to see #Vikings DE Ifeadi Odenigbo in an expanded role this season. Last year, he was very disruptive on a rotational basis.
Ifeadi has a nice blend of speed, power and bend. He never quits on a rush and brings so much energy to the defense.

Thank you, Lyle. It honestly felt like a close call. Many were praying for me. That kept me here, believe. My wife was telling me that my kidneys were close to failure at certain points of the treatment. She was really worried. Just before I came back to consciousness, the doctors told her that my body temperature was really low and that meant either I had an infection or that I was coming off the ventilator soon. Fortunately it was the latter.
