ORIGINAL: TJSweens I looked it up. It was New York City. DeBlasio did it to satisfy people who were concerned about the police using the information. He maintains that the questioning gives them the opportunity to volunteer the information without being directly asked. Not sure how they do that, but that's what he says. In my cursory interweb search on my Google machine, I didn't find any other cities or states doing this. The epicenter of covid19 in the USA. Probably the worst place to not have mandatory contact tracing. Anyway, yes, the Sturgis Rally was an F U to all the locking down and probably not the smartest event to have. But, we can talk about Protestors wearing masks and think that they are fine. No way in the dog days of Summer can a person leave a mask on in the heat and humidity for 4-8 hours. You could be doing everything perfect for 3.5 hours but that one half hour that you are chanting or just catching your breath without a mask negates it all. I had reservations from the outset on the protests, but lets try not to conflate the two as equal events. I wasn't trying to. I said one was deliberate and other one the majority were trying to do it the right way. The results probably end up the same though. The results end up the same? Was there any cultural change coming out of the Sturgis Rally? I missed that. Here's a couple of famous Covid19 sayings. "You will kill your parents and grandparents" " The virus doesn't play favorites" I just want a little consistency on the reporting of how it is spread. Here's a few more quotes that have become famous during the pandemic: "It will go away like a miracle." "And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?" "So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous - whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light."
