- And many of you are feeding into it.

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:10:05 AM)

I made a post in the science section of the politics area. Feel free to continue the non-football aspects of the discussion there. I contend that the Earth is flat and I posted a video that the sheople will likely not have the guts to watch because they can't see the truth. Just you wait - one come a day you will all have your minds blown - but by then it will be too late.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:14:03 AM)

David, I'm saddned by your retort. You can do do better than that buddy. Try harder.

Flat Earth or any other nonsense has nothing to do with the Vikings and the vaccine.

Your funny though. Maybe too funny.....

Here's my hit from SportsCenter on what Kirk Cousins said following his 5 day stint on the COVID-19/reserve list what he'll do to protect against winding up back on that list - like putting Plexiglas around his seat in the meeting room - .

Maybe they could put one of them "Plexiglas" thingys around him on the field during games & give him better protection for more time to find his receivers. Might be a little hard to maneuver during rollout plays but he would probably be at peace with himself.

[sm=icon_sarcasm.gif]

Plus the plexiglass doesn't protect against aerosol transmission, the most important mode. Ventilation matters much more.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:19:55 AM)

So, what would the ownership of the Vikings or say the Cowboys and Jerry Jones do if they had to forfeit multiple games because of the Vax scamdemic nonsense?
Do you think there would be a policy change?
This is going to be interesting to see this play out.
Can and will unvaccinated players file a lawsuit against the league if they feel unfairly discriminated against to the point of loss of work and or pay?
I wonder what data would come out in a court case like that if it went to trial.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:24:27 AM)

Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

NFL owners may find this out the hard way.
If games are shut down due to the COVID policy how many fans will be alienated and leave the sport?
Can the NFL handle another loss in viewership?

Lynn G. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:31:35 AM)

But most certainly not in this case.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:33:34 AM)

Do you think the NFL could prove their Covid policy will contain the spread of the virus in the NFL? Could they prove it in a court of law? Could they prove that unvaccinated players pose a higher risk in a court of law?
Maybe only if they get a liberal judge that is blinded by his ideals and doesn’t follow the rule of law.
There are some interesting court cases popping up. Research a case that recently went to the courts in Alberta Canada. Interesting data in that case.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:35:29 AM)

Enough already!

Take this pointless argument to the covid thread or drop it.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:36:02 AM)

Self Deleted.

The MOD has spoken

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:37:28 AM)

Lynn G, I respectfully disagree. You seem very sure in your retort. Almost as if you are an infectious disease expert. Are you? If not, aren’t you at least open to skepticism?

Will your ideology prevent you from exploring behind the curtain?

Lynn G. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:39:15 AM)

I've written at great length about Covid in the proper place on this forum.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:40:12 AM)

Anyone want to talk Vikings?

I see a few have without going down the political agenda route.

Good job Brad. I don't always agree with your analysis, but I respect your opinions.

Yet you want to retort on this forum.

Want to talk impolitically Biased Vikings football?

What is your thoughts on the oline? Do you think they have done enough to close the gaps this year?

Lynn, can you put the troll out to pasture or do we all need to bail on the site and leave him babbling to himself in his basement?

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:46:29 AM)

Happy Norseman, you want to talk Vikings?

What do you think of the d-line upgrades?

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:53:11 AM)

I would like to say that I would feel sorry for Mike Zimmer...as he is coaching for his job and some of his players out of selfishness are putting that job in jeopardy.

Except I can't. A great leader and great coach would convince these players to understand that the team is more important than their personal beliefs and if those players are going to put the team in jeopardy, then they don't belong in purple. If he can't convince the players of this then he is not a good leader and should be gone too.

Zimmer can go.

I will still root for this team, but have little faith they will succeed this year with so many selfish players and a coach that can't get them to see this.

We are, imho, doomed.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 10:54:04 AM)

So, many of you in this forum have been spewing politics in this forum at nausea forever and now that someone calls you out on it, I’m the one some of you want banned?

Funny how that works. All I’ve wanted to see and talk about is Vikings football, but many of you don’t get that.

Talking about Vikings football is supposed to be a release from all of what is ailing our country.

According to Fantasy Index, the Vikings have the No. 29 rated offensive line. They have Christian Darrisaw and Dakota Dozier both rated as "Definitely Below Average", Garrett Bradbury as "Above Average", Ezra Cleveland as "Probably Below Average" and Brian O'Neill as "Average".

For what that's worth.

According to the magazine, "no team is spending less on its five starters than Minnesota, and it shows."

I don't think it is worth much.

Darrisaw hasn't played a down.
Bradbury isn't above average at this point.
O'Neill is above average.
Cleveland is TBD.

They got Dozier right.

I have the same thoughts Mark. They lost me as soon as they said Bradbury is above average. Darrisaw has yet to play a snap, yet he is definitely below average.

You want to talk politics?

There is an entire series of political forums on this site, including one specifically on the Corona Virus. You can make all your arguments there.

If all you wanted to talk about is Vikings football, then you wouldn't be posting links to ultraconservative pundit blog sites in the football forums.

Bring your politics to where they belong.

Talk about football here. and leave your political website links where they belong.

Bradbury's play may very well have been terrible simply because the guys immediately on either side of him were such garbage that he couldn't look good.

We haven't had a good Guard on this team really since Steve Hutchinson.

it is my hope (and that's all I've got to go on here) that Wyatt Davis is up to the task and can make Dakota Dozier immediately expendable and Ezra Cleveland continues to grow.

Darrisaw cannot be graded as an NFL player yet. It's that simple...so again i can only hope that he is about as good as we got from Reilly Reiff which is a somewhat tall order as he was our best Olineman last year.

O'Neill is pretty good.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 11:03:49 AM)

My own take on the Oline is that it is way too soon to project.
Darrisaw has just returned to practice.

I expect Cleveland has worked on his strength and will benefit from moving to the left side. I read an interview with him, where he said moving from the left to the right side was a lot harder than moving from tackle to guard.

Udoh is splitting reps with Dozier on the right side and that is at least encouraging.

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 11:03:54 AM)

But still you needle Trekgeekscott. I wouldn't have posted links if I wasn't asked to do so by people on this forum. Even in your retort you still can't seem to avoid throwing in a political jab.

Maybe YOU should just talk Vikings too.

Now, what do you think about the upgrades to the D-line?

Burns -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/6/2021 11:08:07 AM)

I'm excited about Udoh. I want to see what he can do in preseason. He has great athleticism. I worry about the position change, but he is reportedly very intelligent and well spoken about the transition. He is an easy guy to root for.
Bradberry scares me though. I don’t like what I have seen from him up to this point.
