ORIGINAL: ronhextall I guess the Vikings go with the analytics geek. I get analytics in baseball, I don't have a good grasp of how that translates to football which is based on physical matchups and schemes. He'd be the GM, not a coach. I know that. So how does a GM use them ? I assume it isn’t drafting a bunch of workout warriors from the combine that sucked on the field in actual games. I guess we will find out. Stats that capture on-field playing ability are an important component of analytics. Hopefully somewhere in the data stacks of terabyte storage devices there's a note about higher drafted OL having more potential than lower drafted OL. Higher drafted OL like Kallil, Elflein, Bradbury, ... What is needed is really good scouting of OL. O'Neill worked out good. Cleveland isn't terrible. Darrisaw looks legit if he can stay healthy.
