Justin Jefferson on him and other #Vikings WRs having invited Kirk Cousins to throw to them in South Florida before camp: "He’s a family guy, so he likes to be with his family in the offseason and stuff. I don’t blame him. So during that time, us receivers just got together.”

maybe one of the biggest issues with KC is that he just doesn't fit with the team...never been one of the guys, and add the separation created by a too big for your britches contract, there is too much envy and lack of connection to the team...

not that he can't necessarily get the job done, but KC's isolation is a frustrating hurdle to overcome...

Something tells me Manion didn't fly down to throw with them either...wonder if Mond was in on it

And those are reasons why he doesn't fit. Bottomline, the face of the franchise has to be mentally fresh. When it's 4th and goal in the red zone, he needs to clearly and quickly determine the best pass is one destined for the 3rd row end zone seats.

Jefferson and the receivers can go wallow in South Florida. Go find a Univ. of Miami QB to throw to them.

Jefferson, you've been Zero Dark Lebron moded!

Don't forget throwing that hail mary 30 yards OOB's.

Now he doesn't accept an invite to work out privately with his receivers.

Has it ever dawned on Cousins that actually winning games will fatten his next contract more than avoiding throwing jump ball int's?

Our GM is weird.

Good!

He has improved the roster and still has 9 Million to spend. That is weird for Vikings fans.

Yeah. That's the weird part. [&o]
To me he's a smart guy who wants to appear the smartest. Trying a bit to hard.
You don't think it's a bit strange for him to already think he can pick out the next mega superstar QB?

I think the tea leaves are that it makes his job or any GM the easiest (HOF QB on a rookie contract). KC and Cincy are examples.

He doesn't have a stud QB on a rookie contract so it isn't exactly easy.

His intent hasn't been quoted correctly yet.

I didn't see the quote or know the context and I really don't care. In this matter I find everyone's opinions much more interesting. Funny how we judge people and seem to "get it" so easily

I think Dantzler and Peterson will be the starting CBs for awhile.

If Booth shines, and looks too good to keep off the field, I think they'll put him in Sullivan's slot, in the slot.

does peterson still have top-end sideline speed?...i'm sure that booth is much faster than he is...we'll see how things play out, but we might want dantzler as cb#1 and peterson cb#2....

pff has dantzler rate #5 in press coverage over the last two years...17th overall in 2021 - but he ended very strong....

i'm not crowning booth here...i just don't want the best players on the field...it just seems that cb's have a tendency to fall off a cliff when they get older....

peterson was ranked as the #57th cb in 2021....

Peterson looked ok but only because opposing QB's were busy roasting Breeland and Alexander. I'm afraid Peterson could well be the weak link this year.

Honestly. Is that what your eyeballs told you?

I thought Dantzler was not good at all to start ... maybe more from a confidence standpoint ... played better at times as the year went on ...

He looked good in a few sequences but I still don't trust a CB with confidence issues.

I know the Zimmer Demonizers will chime in and blame EVERYTHING on him including concession prices and parking availability but ... IMO Dantzler has a long way to go to establish himself as a legitimate starting CB. Regardless of PFF.

#5 in press coverage? Against physical receivers?

C'mon. Not even.

Tom Sykes -> RE: General Vikes Talk (7/31/2022 12:24:18 PM)

IMO Peterson has neither the quickness nor the long speed anymore to stay with fast WRs down the field, so only when we are facing Treadwell, has he got it covered from start to finish.

He does seem to me to be very reliable, physical, and crafty in the first 15-20 yards ... he may require more help down the field but he definitely has his uses.

If Booth is all that ... get Peterson in there as a nickel dime lb cb s whatever hybrid. He's not that much smaller smaller than our inside LBs.

I see commentary in here and on vikings-related sites ... I haven't really seen anything on the outside objectively saying that Danzler is a good CB. I hope I'm wrong and he elevates to another level this year.

As far as Zimmer's influence, he had too many issues to list categorically here ... thank God he's gone ... etc etc ... I just think you have to give players credit for something – not just the good.

The commentary coming into the season was that Dantzler had regressed from the previous year in training camp and preseason. Based on him, on Zimmer, on Breeland ... who knows.

#5 in press coverage? Against physical receivers?

C'mon. Not even.

i remember two items about dantzler in 2021...he was on the old man's shit list the first half of the season, and he allowed the winning touchdown in the loss to detroit....

zimmer demonizer: yeah, but dantzler is a youngster...zimmer was obviously out of his mind because he continued the play breeland for as long as he did...breeland got burned over and over and contributed mightily to us losing games, maybe even more than zimmer did in a few....

many respectable people and organizations have chimed in about dantzler, and that's where i get information from...dantzler seemed to disappear towards the end of the season so i didn't notice him making bad plays or getting beat much - improvement expressed via lack of attention....

Based on him, on Zimmer, on Breeland ... who knows.

remember how you felt (understandably so) when people were giving osborn some praise in training camp last summer?...this seems much more probable....
